Hey all,
I found this bolt in the driveway a couple weeks ago. Does anyone know if this could be from my H3?
Thanks in advance,
Brian

Have you physically removed any bolts on the H3, or another vehicle? The witness marks on the head shows that that bolt has been physically removed with a wrench. If it was factory installed, witness marks would show install. So, unless it has been removed and not installed properly (note torqued), it didn't back out, it was removed.

Thanks guys,
None of my wrenches have been anywhere near my H3 so it must be from someone elses vehicle. I was just thinking that someone might recognize what type of bolt it was and where it might go.

Looks like that might be for the muffler bearing maybee the flux capacitor. http://www.elcova.com/infopop/emoticons/icon_biggrin.gif

You may want to check the specs on the end line for the rotary girder.

Lol fourfourto, thats the first place I checked, the muffler bearings. No go on the flux capacitor as I didn't have that option installed. I wonder how the H3 would handle all those gigawatts.

It's a front caliper bolt for a Chevy Colorado. You better call your buddy that owns it, or he's going to die.

Yeh you always check that muffler bearing first.with the flux capacitor I could jump ahead 20 years and bring back pics of the H4 H5 H6 H7 H8 and post them here.
They have one listed on ebay I wonder if it works

KenP,
Are you serious? There have been no Colorados in the driveway.
The picture I took looks deceiving. When you look at it in person, you can't see any marks on it from a wrench. I'll take another pic to see if I can get a better shot.

You should also check your Front Skid Plate... mine fell off after ~2000 miles.

Maybe it's me, but on the top it looks like marks from a socket, and if the witness marks are on the left side, that means a socket removed it. Again, it might just be me.
But, KenP is also right, it does look like a caliper bolt, but could be used for other suspenion part too.

My skid plate bolt was not in the hole (must have fell out also) anywho, I put the undercarriage protection on my H3 and I really don't think the bolt looked like that.

The bolt looks like it has a little bit of cocaine residue on it. I think we should ask Michael Irvin. I am sure he would know where it goes.

Odd that there is an inch or so of fairly bare metal between the head of the bolt and the threads... leads one to believe that whatever it was for, it was for holding something together at least that thick. And it is pretty clean... The frame is all welded right??? Wonder if its just an extra bolt some assembler accidently dropped from his wrench and couldn't retrieve so grabbed another one... and that loose bolt didn't shake free until your driveway.

It might be an extra bolt lying around cause the first time i changed my oil when i took the front skid plate off a rusted razor blade fell out.If the other guy said its a bolt from a chevy colorado caliper isnt the H3 designed from a chevy colorado.
