Hey Rich. Is this some kind of secret meeting to suck us poor Hummer owners into thinking it's friendly? WTF. Where is it?

sounds shady. give up the location and MAYBE you'll be so lucky to have us attend your 'propoganda' filled event.

just so you get what you want...i drive an H5

SOMETHING STINKS!!!!!!!!!!!!!

You want our info, yet you're being shady about the location????

Something tells me this is a Jeep setup. Might involve intentional damage. Wheelin with jeeps OK. But I get bad mojo comming off this one.

This is a bad ideal guys. Especially from a noob.

Move the meet to Moab and we'll talk.

I bet we'd be welcomed to Trailfest, too. http://www.elcova.com/infopop/emoticons/icon_rolleyes.gif

All those NE 4WD groups are jpers with beat up rigs. It looks like they do some really cool stuff... on some mighty narrow trails. Too bad HUMMERS won't fit.

It looks like your New England jp clubs are very active. Congrats.

Hey Rich, how's Roberta?

People who are new to wheeling in the northeast may not be familiar with the practice, but it is a definite no-no to publicly post trail locations in the New England area. There are no National Parks open to 4wd vehicles out here, so most land is either unmaintained public roads, or private property that requires land owner permission to drive on. Posting these kinds of locations publicly would result in the trails being severely over used and closed down, so clubs are protective of the locations. That is why in the northeast it is important to be part of a club if you want to wheel... much of the land is only legally accessible through the permissions that have been granted to clubs.

Try looking up the location of any popular New England trails if you don't believe it - people run trails in New England every weekend, but you will have to do some real digging to find any locations posted on the internet, and even when they are they are usually not using the real trail names.

I plan to be at this event on the 29th, so if any of you decide to attend, I will see you there.

I have been wheeling on the same New England trails with an H1 for 7 years... things can get tight in places, but with some patience and a good driver a Hummer fits fine.

Sorry but all the H2 vets have bigger fish to fry during that time.

Anyways if you get any novices or noobs, try not to take advantage for a "Photo Op" or set them up to fail.

It would be un American.

Alec,

I have no idea who you are, and I am not sure what you think I may have said in the past... but I never gave "(H2'ers) a real hard time way back when," as you say.

There was a time when some members of this list took issue with some things I posted regarding the use of gauges, but I never once said anything bad about the H2 or its owners, even when some of the responses I got in that thread were "less than friendly."

I wheel with H2's regularly, and count many H2 owners among my friends. I am the current president of the New England Hummer Owners Group (NEHOG), which is composed of about half H1's and half H2's. As a very active wheeler not only in Hummer circles, but among other offroad clubs and organizations, I often find myself defending the H2 and its owners in conversations with other wheelers in Jeep, Toyota, and Rover crowds. I may have even met some of the members of this list at the recent National Hummer Club event - I certainly made some new friends, including more H2 owners, while I was there this summer.

All that said, if you have some kind of a problem with me personally, feel free to send me email privately.

-Manny (manny(at)nehog.org)

BTW, Yes, I have been wheeling in Hummers for a long time, but at 33 years old, I hardly think I am an "elder." http://www.elcova.com/infopop/emoticons/icon_wink.gif
