Hey, does anyone else have this problem - I have an '05 adventure with about 2500 miles on it (three weeks old), and I was just crawling around underneath it to put on my B&B Cat Back, and noticed that I have oil gathering around the mount by the oil filter - yet nothing up by the filter, and I also have an Iraqi oil field around my skid plate for my transfer case. When I looked at the transfer case, it is pissing oil from the seam where the halves come together. DAMN GM!!!
Has anyone else had this problem? I will end up taking it to the dealer, but I dont want them to "experiment" for a week or two to fix it and wind up messing something else up.

By the way. The B&B single tip sounds great, and according to my escort g-force, pics up some power.

My 2003 H2 front transfer case leaks also--just enough to piss me off. Will fix it when I put in 4.56 gears.
This is not a new problem on here but I can't remember the posts. Make the dealer do it now.
It is an expensive part if you let the oil go low in it.

I have 38" tires on my H2. When I do the math, 4.56's with 38's is about the same as 4.10s (stock) with 35's. I race at the track and am tired of changing out my 38's for 35's on race day.
The truck bogs at lot between shifts with the 38's on it and 4.10 gears.
BTW, 4.56 is the lowest ratio that can go in the front diff, or I would go to 4.88s. With a .70 fourth gear (overdrive) I will not run out of tire at the end of the 1/4.
I am admitedly nuts about getting my H2 into the low 14 sec bracket in the 1/4 mile. LPE did it so I will be able to do it too.

Ok, I wasn't sure what you were trying to accomplish. I was thinking that you wanted it to "crawl" better and was thinking that you might want to go with a lower gear in the transfer case for the low 4x4 setting.
It seems like the 4.56 with 38s is right at the same as 4.10 with 35s. I think you would get diminishing returns if you could put 4.88s in though, it seems you would being hitting high RPMS on your top end. With the SC on-board and for flat out dragging and running the 38s it seems like the 4.56 should be enough.

Well, I got back from the dealer, and not the dealer that I bought it from. Detroit Hummer did the repair, and by God, are they awesome!!!
Forget Suburban Hummer in Troy Michigan!
It was the gasket on the X-fer case that was leaking. Apparently, this is not the first one they saw. Another GM problem.

From the look of that control arm you must have gotten the suspension in one heck of bind. it looks as though it was bent going backwards?
