gas pedal vibration? huh?

my H3 did something funky today. as i was driving i felt a weird vibration (almost pulsating) from the gas pedal. i also heard/felt some rattles from who knows where. kinda went away on the highway. lasted a little while then stopped. came back and then went away for the most part. WTF? the dealer is like 45min. away and this is annoying. thoughts?
