I got the Trailering equipment package and was talking with the local dealer (not the dealer I bought my H3 from) and they said that it should have included: 7 to 4 pin adapter for trailer wiring harness, a power outlet at the rear and a hitch cover. The dealer I bought it from was unsure and was going to check. Anyone else get this included with the package or is it supposed to be included? The GM part # is 17800532.

I think your talking about the trailer convenience package, comes with a couple of different plugs. It was extra from my dealer (ORR).

It was all included in my trailer package. I actually stumbled upon the couplers and rubber cover in the back. Open your tailgate and look in the left storage bin under the rear window. That's where I found mine with an instruction sheet. If you have the monsoon system, you wont have a storage area there, there will be a speaker so look in the right side storage bin. It might be there!

cropOOOs,
That's what I was told also by my dealer, that it was extra. but what I didn't conferm was if the Trailer Hitch Package came with a transmission cooler. does anyone know this for sure?

They are two separate packages.

I hadn't really thought about it before but I think I saw those connectors recently at the marina and they were only $5-$10. Anyone know how much you can by these for aftermarket. If you don't get the convenience package, do you have to do your own wiring for the lights?

Here is one place that has it online:

http://hummerpartspeople.com/searchproduct.asp?model=H3...ing+-+7+to+4+Adapter (http://hummerpartspeople.com/searchproduct.asp?model=H3&catid=3339735583697792& year=06&productdesc=Trailer+Hitch+Wiring+-+7+to+4+Adapter)

They are like 15 bucks. I bet you can find them even cheaper.

I believe the trailer convenience kit is indeed sold separately. I was told it is a separate line item. I went through the same thing.

It is a seperate option but does anyone know if the wiring is there if you get the hitch but not the convenience package. There has got to be a reason to pay $150 for it when you can get the adapter for $15 or less and who cares about the cover.

Yes, the wiring and the connector is there, all you need is the adaptor. This was how bought mine. I found the adaptors at Pep Boys for $15.00.

When I bought my hummer with the trailer package I too thought the adaptors came with it.

So they are charging $150 for a $15 adaptor and hitch cover? No f***ing way I am going to pay that.

That is definitely more reasonable.

Go to any trailer parts store. You can find it for under $15.00

Same here. I thought it was all together. Then I found out that I did not get the adapter and cover. I was told it was a $150 option that I did not get.
I bought the adapter at AutoZone for $15. and a cover (without the "Hummer" on it) for $10. The dealer wanted $58 just for the stupid cover! My adapter is actually better because it has LED's on it for testing. http://www.elcova.com/infopop/emoticons/icon_cool.gif

Try marine stores, Walmart, NAPA, around $10. Be sure your trailer wire is long enough to reach. You may need a 7 to 4 with a pigtail.I found a 2" drop on the ball was level with my tandom axle boat trailer.

Uhaul stores are selling the adapters for $15.00 as well. I picked mine up there and don't care about the receiver cover.
