That is a joke, but it doesn't surprise me in the least. H3s are selling great so why give top dollar for a trade-in.

You could probably get a bit more if you sold it on your own, but not much. I know the dealer number sounds low, but remember, they want to turn around and resell it for a profit. So they buy it from you for 27K, then sell it for 30K. They won't give you 30 because then then can't do anything with it. They can't then sell a used 7,000 mile truck for 33K when someone can buy a brand new one for that. You might push for 28K, but that might be the best you could do.

It's tough trying to get out from under a new vehicle. I have had to do it before a number of times, and I have always lost some money. Good luck to you!

Mall rated is correct and it's called depreciation. Especially with GM increasing the number of H3s they plan to produce. It's too early to try and get out from under your current H3. I'm guessing it's about a $10k difference between what you paid and what the dealer is offering?

I had to buy a Canyon that would fit my budget. I plan to trade it next year when used 06 H3's will hit the auction at 23-25 loaded. Just like the the 03 H2 these are going to take a big hit on the d.

I paid with tax and license 41k. I bought it at another dealer fully loaded and had them take off the chrome on the door handles and mirror caps. I was toying with the idea of a trade in for the Superior Blue but with the numbers they gave me the whim is gone. They really pissed me off when they said that I got suck a low number because she had 7000 miles on her.

Edmunds.com states that driving a car off the showroom floor reduces its value by 16% and they give values of 20% for SUVs and light trucks. So if you paid 40K it's worth 32K when you pull it into the driveway. That really hasn't changed much in the last 50 years unless you are driving a low production volume, high cost vehicle - but there are exceptions to everything -- the ZR1?

True, but taxes, plates, title, and other fees are not considered in the depreciation.

And 7000 miles is most likely a lot, depending on how long you've had it.
