Long story short…Saturday, I had the pleasure of being pulled for speeding by a county deputy. This guy was determine to get me…he pulled a U-turn on the 2 land bridge! So after citing me a $440, 6-point ticket his last statement to me, “Nice Hummer, but you shouldn’t have gotten yellow. I saw you coming from a mile away.”

DAMN IT!!!

Damn, how fast were you going? That is one hell of a ticket, guess the H3 isn't under powered like some would like to claim http://www.elcova.com/infopop/emoticons/icon_biggrin.gif

Oh, and by the way, sorry to hear about the ticket. That really sucks http://www.elcova.com/infopop/emoticons/icon_frown.gif

I'm Guilty...I was doing 61 in a 35,plus I didn't realize it was still a construction zone (there weren't any signs or cones on the bridge). Yeah...it's sucks. But I have a couple of connections. I'm going try my damnest to get in reduced.

Well, at 61 in a 35 I don't think the color was going to make any difference, he was going to come after you http://www.elcova.com/infopop/emoticons/icon_frown.gif You should be able to get it reduces though. Those construction areas really suck. Don't think they should double the fines when there is nobody around. Saw a bad omen a few month ago while heading over to the west coast of FL. There was a sign with cartoon faces of kids that said please slow down so our parents can get home safely as I entered a construction area. Scary thing is somebody had hit the sign http://www.elcova.com/infopop/emoticons/icon_eek.gif

I knew he had me...and I didn't try to fight it. It's my 1st ticket in 10 years, so I would have thought he would have cut me a little slack, but oh well. My court date is Nov. 2nd (the day after my birthday...great!)

We have those signs around here as well...put what's odd...we have them in places where there is no construction.

You would think that he would at least drop it down a few MPH since you didn't try to fight it at all. I had a great cop pull me over a couple of years about for doing 46 in a 30. I sped up to get around another vehicle so I could get in the right lane and he stepped out into the lane and pointed to pull over. They had a nice little speed trap going and 4 other vehicles pulled over all ready. He asked for license, registration and proof of ins. I had just renewed my insurance and couldn't find the new card. He offered to wave the speeding ticket and just give me a failure to provide proof of insurance ticket instead. What a great officer, as long as I provided proof and paid it within 30 days it was only a $5 ticket versus the $175 plus ticket he could have given me http://www.elcova.com/infopop/emoticons/icon_cool.gif

OH NO! I have a Yellow H3 on order!

In fact it starts to get built today!

Sorry to hear about the ticket. I got pulled over months ago while I was trying to make a golf tee time. I pulled over as I knew he had me, put out my license and insurance and waited for him to approach. When he got there I told him I didn't have a good excuse, I was trying to make a tee time. He looked at me and said, that's a good excuse, gave me back my stuff and let me go! That was great; my golf game sucked! I should have taken the ticket! Just kidding.

I usually only do about 5miles over the posted speed limit, but I was punching it to get across the bridge (it's actually a man-made damn) b/c my 4 month old was screaming in the back seat. So instead of trying to reach back and put the pacifier back in his mouth, I was going to hurry across the dam and pull over to check on him. Maybe if the cop had asked my why I was speeding in the 1st place he would have been a little nicer about it. Oh well...guess he was doing his job (hope he met his end-of-the-month quota)

Sorry to hear about your ticket... I am shocked though - from what I can see in your icon (not to be sexist), I always hear about the nice looking girls getting warnings...

On the flip side, I was pulled over a little while ago and the officer told me I was speeding. He asked what I did for a living, which seems to be a question I get or have gotten every time I've been pulled over. I look 20 something, although I am 30 something, and have short spikey hair... I'm a musician, but I do trial presentation for attorneys during the day...
This is what the cop said, "I have a set of rules. I don't write tickets for doctors, teachers and lawyers, and you're close enough to being a lawyer. Have a good day and try to keep your speed down."

Got o court and say you're guilty and say you're sorry and see if they will change it to wreckeless driving with a motor vehicle. Th ecost will stay the same, but you don't loose the points and your insurance doesn't know any better. good luck though.

Now that REALLY sucks. As I mentioned in another post (XM vs Sirius) I have a problem with Ministy's "Just One Fix". I got a ticket coming back from school several years ago and that song came on. Next thing you know, I was doing 105 in a 50 and saw the cop as I came over the hill. Slammed on my breaks and he said I was doing 75 in a 50. LOL! I argued with him and said, yes I was speeding, but only doing 62. He gave me a ticket for 62 (whew, since I knew 75 wasn't going to cut it for defensive driving!).

I guess if you admit to it, and lie about the actual speed, you'll get off a little easier! http://www.elcova.com/infopop/emoticons/icon_rolleyes.gif

Sorry to hear about the ticket. I know how it can be with a baby in the back seat, and that "passi" is crack for babies! My 2 month old son does the same thing, but he's usually knocked out when I drive. Something about vehicles just puts him to sleep! http://www.elcova.com/infopop/emoticons/icon_biggrin.gif

Sorry to hear about anyones ticket... any which way reading everyones stories is entertaining...

RE: Asking to change charge... Reckless driving was mentioned... I beleive "Careless" Driving is what you meant... Reckless carries a heavier charge... I work in the EMS (Emergency Medical Services) industry and happen to get alot of breaks when ever I get pulled over, one time I did get ticketed the cop changed it to "Careless" driving and I had a fee but no points taken...

And DIZ, where in PA do you live...? I work outside of Phila in Montgomery and Bucks Counties...

H3 here H3OwnerDiz,,,North Wales PA,,Montgomery County,,anyway HIHUMMER,,defintely take a hearing,,,we cops always amend them at the hearing,,what do we care, why should the insurance companies get all the money for the point accumalation. the cop is getting his 3 hours of OT for his 15 minutes worth of time..as long as you wern't an ass on the stop, most cops will amend it for you based onthe policies of that court. good luck,,, might want to take some pictures of the site where there was not proper signs,,and ask the deputy for his certification to run speed and what timing device he is using and the cert for that too,,

I dated this girl who leaved near Houston (about 4-5 hours away from Dallas). She used to drive to come and see me on the weekends... She's got long blonde hair down to her back side and at that point, drove a yellow Mustang GT... She went through tickets like nobody's business...
