We have had one for a year now. We love it. We bought an HD set, Tivo won't transfer the lifetime subscription to another box. What a waste. It's a guaranteed ripoff of a subscriber. How long will a box last? How often does new tech come out? We should've read the fine print.

I had 3 tivos on Direct TV. When I went out and got a 60" HD TV, I call D-TV to get upgrade, was going to be almost 800 per tivo, plus new splitter box and dish upgrade....

I am now back on Comcat and get my DVR from them with HD recording for 10 a month per box...and I only need 1 cable to do 2 tuner recording, not the dual feeds like on D-TV.

No cable for us. We live way up in the mountains. Satellite's the only game in our "town", population 107. Saaaaaalute!

Thanks though.

Yeah, the subscriptions don't transfer, that's why if you see them on ebay, they won't/shouldn't sell for less than the cost of the lifetime subscription. http://www.elcova.com/infopop/emoticons/icon_wink.gif I just built my own unit and am very happy with it.... http://www.elcova.com/infopop/emoticons/icon_smile.gif Don't have to worry about monthly or lifetime charges etc...
