Check out www.thule.com (http://www.thule.com)

They sell the same type of roof boxes as Hummer dealerships. I would guess the Hummer boxes are made by Thule, because they look the same. This is a chain sporting goods store by me called Galyan's that sell the roof boxes. I am sure any large sporting goods store by you would have them too.

Yes, the Hummer Hard Cargo Carrier is indeed manufactured by Thule, as well as the roof bicycle racks, roof ski racks, etc. But I believe that the Hummer box is a special model not in the regular Thule line. However, the Hummer box does look "cool" and does hold lots ...

Thanks for the feedback. I checked several models of Thule, their brackets will not fit the OEM crossbars. I have an appt. with dealer tomorrow for some Mobil 1 ATF and oil and will compare pricing or see if I can buy just the bracket kit to retro the Thule. I'm sure I'll find out that it's worth doing... I found a Thule evolution for $259.00. Hummer will be more than double that I bet.

I have the hard cargo and love it - I just added a small version of the Gobi rack to give me both open and closed storage - I am working to adapt the t-bolts off the carrier to set in place in the crossbar so that I can remove the carrier but leave the bolts in place.

I was thinking of getting a cargo box that mounts in the receiver instead of the rooftop carrier... Easier to access, but smaller amount of storage.

I have had the OEM carrier for a year now it is really nice as posted prior. I have gone to roof rack for spare tire. Box is sitting in my carriage house- make me an offer if you are interested. I'll let it go for 1/2 price

Dr P,
What's your best price for the box? I might be interested in it.

Yea Dr P, You might have started a bidding war, I might be interested also. I was thinking of putting a basket on top of my factory bars, But the thought of dry golf club storage is intriguing. So what is your price for factory accessory H2 roof storage?

I purchased a Thule box and yes thier supplied mounting kit does not fit the H2 cross rails. I did purchase the optional mounting hardware kit and was able to just utilize the z washers for mounting to the factory H2 rails.
Works and looks great! The silver Thule color matches the rims perfect. If you want the H2 Hummer logo, visit your local sign dealer. This entire package was less then $400. $250 cheaper then the Hummer Box.

I ended up buying the Hummer box on my dealer visit. Price ? - $560. At least I know I won't have to retrofit the brackets.
