View Full Version : GMID, "Share your Discount"....anyone 100% ready to buy and want a GMID?
I have one more GMID I can issue out with the "Share Your Discount"! If your 100% serious, 100% ready to buy, and you know your Dealer will take the GMID email me your full name, last 4 of SSN, and DOB. I only have one left so please only ask for it if you are 100% going to use it! Don't waste it, if still thinking you might or maybe get one please let someone that is 100% sure and ready get it!

Get Supplier through work. Logged into the GMS site the other day to check on an H for a friend and there was a Promo Pop-Up and a new area/section on the site I haven't seen before.
Called about it to see what exactly the details were. Allows Suppliers to issue GMID's from April 1st through May 31st. "Share Your Discount"
The other day my status line said "You have 1 Authorizations valid until 05/31/2006" , but now today it says 2, so if anyone is in need I guess I actually can do two more!

The GM ID is only a coupon that is used at the Dealers discretion. The dealer at no point has to accept the coupon. So if you work out a discount on your Hummer then you throw down the GM ID they will get mad and renegotiate your price. Think of it as an advertisement gimmick to get you into the GM floor.
You basically have to buy at the advertised price, which is already jacked up, then they will most likely give you credit towards the GM ID. The discount is based on the % of the sale price. If you go in with a trade-in and the ID, you will get ripped off on your trade-in. The best way to us the ID is to go to the dealer with bank support for the sale price and then slap down the GM ID. They will be mad and might not want to take your GM ID. If a dealer can’t make $4000,00 on your deal they don’t want to deal. Remember. Every dealer gets credit at the end of the year on the total amount of new vehicles that were sold.
What GM employees might tell you, has nothing to do with what Dealerships will do for you. If you ask me, some of GM’s failure has to do with greed on the part of the Dealership and lazy UAW.
Any other deal will get you less for your GM ID. Remember, Dealers do this for a living and they know how to get you tired. But again it could just be me?

The GMID discount is exactly the same as the Supplier discount. This price is clearly listed on the invoice of the vehicle, the dealer can't mark it up. In some areas (Dallas/Fort Worth, for example) the GMID price will be below the factory invoice price. It is at the dealer's discretion as to whether or not they will accept the GMID number, but I'd say those who won't are few and far between.
The notion that a dealer will only take a $4000 deal on an H3 is absurd, as was most of the above post.
