I think the all-chrome looks cooler!

I thought about doing that with my wheels..it has been done. Check out my other thread about "powder coat/paint idea"

i took the wheel from VTSTOMPER on the other tread and photoshoped them to my truck to see what they looked like because when i was at the dealer last week i thought it would look good and saw that VTSTOMPER had done some of the work for me already. (VTSTOMPER thanks for the other thread)

VTSTOMPER did you ever coat your rims? interested in how they would turn out

I did - however I didn't leave any polished areas. I was going to but I wanted to go 100% gun metal. Too bad I thought this way after I had taped off two wheels! http://www.elcova.com/infopop/emoticons/icon_wink.gif

So I removed the tape from the polished areas and painted the whole thing. That thread goes on to show more pics of what I have done.

You can do it with the chrome ones too..but there is more to it. Painting chrome is much more of a pain in the butt.

Sweet ride...welcome to H2 oosnwership--its rediculous how much one can love a vehicle after owning a Hummer. I thought about blacking my windows out as well, but with the SUV i woudl think i would have problems seeing at night....i know my cars were hard to see out of at night with 5% so i couldnt imagine driving my h2SUV with it. It looks great though.

i never use the a/c unless it is raining so its all windows down, unless i don't want someone to see in.

Very nice. Now keep it that way for a couple of days.

MovinH2 - I always do. I love the look on peoples faces when they look at the hummer all mudded up. Plus I have to let people know that I let the truck "stretch its legs".

MovinH2

LoL. I wash mine after about 3 days of it being all mudded up. Than it never seems to surprise me when the next day I see someone and they say "why do you own a truck like that if it's going to be a garage queen and all clean". Than thats when I pull out the pictures I keep in my wallet. HA HA HA

it will be a while before i go out and get the truck all muddy. what used to take about an hour to wash now takes 8 plus i know there will be mud that i will never be able to get off because of the hard to reach areas. but i have to say i had a blast out there.

Easy way to solve that bro. Go through a good auto car wash. That's what I do weekly now.

06SUT23
10-05-2005, 10:31 PM
those car washes don't scratch the paint?

MovinH2
10-05-2005, 10:58 PM
Nope I've never had a problem with them. I use BP's cause they seem to get mine the cleanest.

I was worried when I first got it, so I asked the owner if the size would be a problem. But it never was.

Looks like a good Photoshop edit job to me. Oh, it is a Photoshop edit. You can mask before painting but I don't think I would do it because, even though powdercoat is durable, over time your probably going to get dings on the edges. I had mine powdercoated (Black Multi-color metal flake- "Inert Bling" and only have on very small section that was chipped when they mounted the tires. I'll post pictures soon.
