Made the first trip of the year over to the cabin near Glacier Park.

Fortunately, no hoodlums broke in over the winter :)

Only problem was the end supports for the dock were
taken out by the ice, so it will be a while until the
boat gets in the water :(

Hauled the boat up too, towed great behind the H3 ;)

That sounds good for next summer. :)

Have to haul alot of stuff up to the cabin this year.
And get the dock fixed. :(

And we are going over to Seattle/Everett the weekend after the 4th.

Nice pics.
I spent a week at ...Bowman Lake (?) upper west part of Glacier park, back in 1993. It was August, probably 90 degress, and the lake was probably 55! Couldn't stay in long. Think about sweating in that heat and then having to wash off a bit in quite cold water! :p

Best memory, woke up one morning to a grizzley about 100 yards off, toppling trees. He eventually walked thru our campsite about 20 -30 feet from us. Oh, yea, we were in the cab of the truck at that point ready to take off! Good times!

Back in the mid 70's my cousin and I hiked into Logging Lake up in that general area of the park. We were dropped off by the family and they were going to come back and pick us up the next afternoon. After we had hiked in, there was a group of older teens that said there had been a bear around the night before. :( We decided to stay the night as there were a couple of other tents still in the camping area and where were we going to go anyhow, all we could have done was hike back to the dirt road and still be out in the middle of nowhere.... We had hiked around during the late afternoon and found a park cabin that we figured we could get into if the bear came around again. Fortunately we didn't see any bears that trip.

Did have one brush up against a wall tent set up near the cabin once. Good thing I was 90% asleeep and just rolled over on my cot.:o
The cousin and his family had a minature pincher and she had been agitated all during the night - dog was in the cabin.

Wow.
Looks like one of those postcards from Switzerland. (At least to someone living in West Texas now :) .) I heart snowcapped mountains and clear lakes.

Glacier's lodges do have a Swiss style theme to them :)

There also two chalets that you have to hike into, there may horse rentals to get to at least one of the chalets. We hiked to both years
ago and stayed overnight. The chalets also have that Swiss type look.

Need tie rods to secure dock to shore :D before it gets pulled out any further by future winter ice:mad: shifts in the spring.:o Then dock would go booom, splash...

Yes Neo, you would be required to bring swiss cheese :D
