I noticed the last couple weeks that when i start my h2 and drive away that the courtesy light on the passenger inside door panel doesnt shut off after the normal delay. When i shut the truck off it will shut off after the normal delay. It doesnt happen every time but often enough. At first I thought the passenger door wasnt shut all the way and I would lean over and open and close the door and it would shut off. After quite a few times of that I now know the door is shut and am getting tired of doing that to get the light to shut off. Any ideas?

have you tried the wheel/button left from your steering wheel, next to the light switch ? Maybe it's completely up, than the lights won't shut down.

I have looked at that. Its only the passenger door light, no other lights.

I havnt yet. I got a recall notice for the window washer heater system. I'll have the dealer look at it when i deal with the recall issue.

I have the same issue on my '06. Doesn't happen all the time. Cannot find what is wrong.

Same problem I had on our O6. Hummtech has the answer on this forum. Something about the connection inside the door to the power door lock module.....Never solved it on mine. Light would come on while driving.

Sold the 06. Somebody bought it. Problem is now yours.....

My 06 H2 did the exact same thing. I believe there is a bulletin for this. Take it to the dealer, they will do a re-program and it will fix the issue.

Went to the dealer today to get my recall fixed for the heated washer system. Had them look at the passenger door courtesy light. There was a TSB on it. They had to install updated software to the computer for the problem. Seems there was a glich with the original. The service manager gave me a quick explanation on the issue and said everything has modules and goes through the computer, there are no direct connections via wire or voltage to switches etc. just sounded interesting. I assumed the door panel would have to be removed and light switch/module replaced or repaired. Everyting was done at the ECM and jst reprogrammed. Done deal.

Mine had same problem. It is a known issue and dealer flashed some module (not the ECM) with a firmware update and corrected the problem. They didn't believe me at first, so I drove it up there one day and rolled the window down and had them look inside while the light was still on:grouphug:

I have the same Problem on my 06!

Do you have to go to a Hummer dealer or will any GM dealer be O.K.?

Got mine done at a Caddy/Buick dealer. Give them a call, any GM dealer should be able to take care of it. I believe the only time they wont is when there is a Hummer dealer local. They dont want to create any problems with competition.

Had the same thing with my '06 SUT. It was so irritating I was considering either removing the bulb or putting electric tape over the light. Took it to the dealer, they reflashed the module, and I was in and out in less than 20 minutes. They seemed to know all about, even a year and half ago. This must have been a programming glich in the '06s.

Body Control Module reflash. You would be surprised how many problems we repair on a daily basis with updated module calibrations

Anyone have the TSB number for this? My 06 just started exibiting the same problem and s/w the dealer and they have never heard of this problem. Would help me to have the TSB for them to help out with the down time I will have with the truck in the service department... Thanks

No ****... I'll be damned. I've noticed over the last month that my pass. door does this intermittently. I have to open the driver's door and close it again to shut off the pass. side door light.

I've been meaning to check into it and happened to check out this thread.

And voila....

Thanks guys.
