has anyone taken this off and noticed a difference in the amount of air coming in...that you HAD to put it back on?

Not yet, but I'm tempted to. At interstate speeds it begins to make an awful buzzing noise. I thought of resealing it, but not sure if it is the seal, or the integrity of the plastic itself.

Took mine off for a while and it made a rumbling noise with the sunroof open, guess it is there for a reason :)

Any suggestions on how to fix this problem? Is there a TSB for it, I couldn't seem to find one.

Every car with a sunroof that we have ever had (maybe 9) is the same way. Without a deflector they all had that rumble unless you put a window down a little bit. Seems to be more an air pressure thing than anything. i don't really think its a design or equipment flaw.

I agree...has to do with wind passing over the opening. I am sure an engineer could explain why it does it....easy fix...crack open a window.
