Well, not really a full tour, but I went in with a couple of my coworkers that spend a lot of time in there, and we got to pretty much walk all around the place.

Pretty cool, and very high-tech. GM really does things right in their scheduling and assembly methods, it is amazing to watch these things come together.

I was in Shreveport all last week, and I was going to try to get a tour. However, as it turned out, I didn't have any free time.

Does anyone know if they give tours of the plant in Shreveport?

Right now only family or friends are allowed on tours. No tour groups as of right now. If you are in the area and want a tour, PM me and we'll see what we can do. 1 person can only take 5 people on a tour at 1 time.

It is posted pretty clearly that cameras are not allowed, they specifically mention camera phones as well. They don't frisk you or anything, but I'm sure they are on the lookout for people sneaking pictures.

As a reformed Jeeper, I like any pics or info I can get dealing with the H1,2 or3 as I am a devoted Hummer fan.
I woulden't want anyone to get into trouble. I bought the H3 book that is out and it is very interisting what went into desigening this great truck.
The book has a ton of pictures of the assembally process.

Will they remain open? If so I will have to figure out some form of training which I need to go back to INdiana, to re-take http://www.elcova.com/infopop/emoticons/icon_wink.gif
