Does anyone have more information on this unit that Hummer is offering for $500 on new cars? I went to the website but could not find anything. Also, if I'm planning on leasing the h3, do I actually have to spend the $500 to buy it or is just added to the car price.

The $500 can be put in the lease, so it doesn't have to come out of your pocket.

Basically, the player costs $1500, but there is a rebate to the dealer for $1000.

The screens are built into headrests, and they replace your headrests with the new headrests with the screens. Easy to hook up and install.
Left DVD is the master...you can use the left to play a DVD on both the right and left screens. However, you can run separate DVDs in both units.
Per the accessory manager, it is supposed to be a $1900 option.

How is the audio heard for the units?

Good question, I never asked, I just watched the install, and the acc. manager told me about the left being the master unit. However, as with most on the market today, I would guess via wireless headsets.

Does anyone know if I can buy this now for the reduced price or is it only available on new trucks. Sounds like a good xmas gift for the kids (me). http://www.elcova.com/infopop/emoticons/icon_wink.gif

The $500 price is only available on new cars "delivered" between 11/15/05 and 1/3/06.

I just saw a special offer on the Hummer website- one can lease the H3 w/the dvd entertainment system for $399/month.
