Although not entirely Hummer-ish, I'm hoping someone here have some experience with the various Clifford systems available out there.

Trying to make my mind up between the Matrix or G5 system but not getting very far :/

I'd love the 2-way remote included with the Matrix (RSX3.5) systems, but it seems there are more accessories available for the G5 (avantguard 5) system. Specifically looking at the smartwindows, blackjax and proximity sensor modules.

Been trawling the web for some time now, and keep drawing blanks so here I am http://www.elcova.com/infopop/emoticons/icon_smile.gif

Can I get a 2-way 'remote' for the G5 system? or can I get the extra modules listed above for the Matrix system? Or should I be considering something different all together?

Basic features I need are remote start, windows and proximity sensors. Anything else is purely extra.

Comments/Opinions appreciated.

Thanks CBR_Raven.

I've seen that website before, and whilst I really like the actual remote I wasnt filled with confidence due to the fact their 'accessories' page is non existant http://www.elcova.com/infopop/emoticons/icon_confused.gif as well as the fact of them providing very limited online information on the systems.

Having now being recommended a CompuStar system I'll have to investigate further though http://www.elcova.com/infopop/emoticons/icon_smile.gif

Anyone else have experience with these systems?

I'll just repost this from an earlier thread.

I have the new Viper Matrix (exactly the same as Clifford).

The alarm is great. Range is exceptional and the sensors seem to work really well. Its simple and intuitive. The 2 way remote gives feedback on all the commands and it will let you know if it is out of range.

They did a very trick install for the glass break microphone and the rear closed loop sensor (this allows me to secure my boat or dirtbike).

I highly recommend the system but make sure you get it installed by a reputable shop and authorized dealer. Install is everything!

Here is a pic of the install. You can see the microphone flush mounted between the trac control and Hi/Low selector.

The little blue armed light is very bright. It is highly visible from a good distance outside the vehicle.

Remote start is really nice in the Texas heat!

I have the CompuStar 2W900FM-AS also.
I'm extremely pleased with it.

The guy that installed the CompuStar on my H2 has been installing alarms for 18 years. He has CompuStar on all 4 of his vehicles so that says something. He installs Clifford, Viper or any alarm that you prefer but he speaks highly of the CompuStar.

CBR,

If you don't mind my asking, what did you pay for the alarm and install?

I have the Clifford RSX3.5 and like it so far. I may add the proximity sensor to it.

CBR,

I have the windows feature but I don't have the proximity sensors. I guess it all depends on the features you want to have installed with it. All I really wanted was 2way remote paging and remote windows up/down. The shock sensor can be adjusted so I don't see a need for a proximity sensor.

Thanks very much guys. I've got some more investigating to do it seems http://www.elcova.com/infopop/emoticons/icon_smile.gif

Clifford/Viper seems the best bet at the moment as they have European counterparts available in-store just about everywhere so less work to be done to have a legal system once I bring it over here.
