V-8 Worth the wait

Planning on the Hummer purchase in the next month or so. Love everything about it. However hear that the v-8 will be out in about 2 years. I'm not a power junky so I don't think this is a concern. any differing opinions. Would it be worth waiting for the v-8?

Short answer......NO http://www.elcova.com/infopop/emoticons/icon_biggrin.gif Get the H3 now and enjoy it while you can. 2 years from now may bring us a diesel, a V8, a Hybrid, a Cold Fusion reactor with in-line flux capacitor. I am not the one to ask about waiting. I did a mad scramble on the Internet to find one equipped the way we wanted it so that we could pick it up at the dealer at once. We didn't want to wait weeks for a special order.

With just 400 miles on it, we haven't opened it up yet but it seems plenty powerful with the I5 engine. From what I know so far, I would pass up a V8 for the I5 if they had a choice.

One other thing to think of when talking about GM might possibly, maybe sometime in the near future release a V8, is the price. I would bet if they do release a V8 (and I have no personal knowledge that they will or will not http://www.elcova.com/infopop/emoticons/icon_biggrin.gif), it will be an option, and might not be that cheap.
I have no problems with the 3.5L, and a boost of about 25-30 would, in my opinion, make it just a hair better.

I liked the idea of the supercharger initially. I am not convinced that the OEM parts could handle the additional strain offroad.

Would have no problem with rear axle or transfer case, but the front axle could be a problem. http://www.elcova.com/infopop/emoticons/icon_biggrin.gif
However, if you are going with a supercharger, figure in the price of a new axle. Warranty will be no good on driveline components; that's for sure.

That's nice, 308 claimed horsepower out of the 3.5L I5. Good luck on warranty claims. What's going to blow first, the motor or the front axle? Fun but could get real expensive http://www.elcova.com/infopop/emoticons/icon_smile.gif.
