Hello everyone! I'm new here and waiting to order my H3 already but dealers around here have no answer or they make one up(diff. dealler/diff. answer). Anyone have any insight to when it's going to be avaiable? Please help winter will be here soon. Thanks!

My dealer said you can order it now and when it becomes available it will be a dealer installed item.

Don't let the Nav stop you from buying the H3 now. You can always retrofit a GM Nav later. I did it on both of my H2's. In fact, doing it later is cheaper and it's the same damn Delphi Nav unit you get from the dealer.

Actually, a TNR system is being tested now for the H3. they just have to get it working with the Monsoon system.

When I placed my order, my dealer said that it was not available to even order. He showed me his "order" system and there was no option for NAV of any sort. It is listed on the web site, but apparently - per my dealer - not an item you can even order.

kacyk, I only know of JP Customs GM NAV offering and it is $2K. I have been told, that is about what the OE version will run. Do you know of a cheaper supplier? I sure would be interested. Also, shouldn't the current GM NAV system fit into the H3? It's double DIN and a GM OE product? Anyone know?

JP customs is working on one. I spoke with Jason a couple of weeks ago. They need to tackle the Monsoon amp issue. But if you don't have the Monsoon stereo, they may even have one for you. I bought two TNR's from them. The radio in my Yukon did not have an amp so I bought a TNR with an internal amp. I'm not sure when he will release the units but it's a plug and play application.

BTW, you can get a Eclipse AVN 2454 on Ebay for $1,200 all day long. It's a better unit than the Delphi, IMO. I just bought the Delphi from jason because I wanted to retain my steering controls without adapters.

Go with either the Pioneer or Eclipse Units aftermarket, both work with the monsoon setups and have been installed in H3's

So anyone know what needs to be down to hook it up to the monsoon?

How well do they fit in the double Din mount? I have seen an Alpine that had to use a black mounting kit and it didnt look so hot against the Brushed Aluminum Dash Applique.

Does anyone know if the that double DIN opening the exact same size as the H2's?

Go to a reputable installer that does custom work and they should be able to make the install kit match the brushed aluminum pretty good.

Kacyk, I would order it but like Kid Shyleen said the dealers aren't taking orders for the NAV yet & they also don't know if it could be added later. Nobody even knows what it will look like either. I have had aftermarket head units in the past and they usually don't last that long, so I don't know if I should go that route yet. Kind of want that factory installed look.

If you buy a unit from a quality manufacturer it should last a long time. I have had high end head units that still worked great 10 years later.

The Eclipse is a nice unit along with the Pioneer AVIC-D1 I went with the AVIC-N2 for 2 reasons. When it's powered off looks like regular radio/CD unit to deter theft and its ability to play DVD's and accept voice commands

h3'er, I have been looking at that system as well. I would love to see pictures of the install. Do you have a CD pocket beneath the unit?
