Got some pics of our lifted H2 from the dealer. They aren't very good ones and I will have to take some better ones myself, but here is what I have so far. The Rancho Kit says it's a 4" lift however I measure a 6.5" difference between mine and the stock H2 sitting next to it. I realize that I gain an inch from the 37" Goodyears so that makes the lift over 5".

We (my wife and I) really debated which to go with...4" or 6" kit. I have the Rancho 4" on our 1 ton dually duramax and like how it's built and handles. I don't know that much about the Skyjacker but the Rancho does have the one piece welded main carrier as opposed to the multipiece kits other folks have. As for the height, I was nervious about going too high because we really do go off road a lot and with the rack and all the stuff we carry on top we figured it was tall enough. We already have two other rigs with 8+" of lift on them. Besides, the Rancho lift really is closer to 5.5" of lift not counting the tires.

A question for you: You have the stage 2B from Breathless, I have already put on the Airforce intake, headers(SMA), and exhaust for about a 40hp gain. Do you think the remaining upgrades (reflash and throttle body, etc.) make a big difference? I'm not looking to turn it into a sports car but with the larger tires it might help it a bit more.

I too have the Gobi Rack, and have been thinking the 6" might be too much with the rack and all. The one piece main carrier is really why I wanted the Rancho, but I still want little more lift too. And I haven't gotten off road yet, but I can't wait to! Theres really just nowhere around here http://www.elcova.com/infopop/emoticons/icon_frown.gif What rigs do you have the 8"+ of lift on? Heck, tell me about all your toys! http://www.elcova.com/infopop/emoticons/icon_biggrin.gif And whats with the bowtie on the front of the landcruiser, do you have a small block in there?
As for your questions concerning the computer reflash and the throttle body, yes I think it's worth it. I do feel a bit more power, and my economy did increase a tad bit, but I just never see it because I like to listen to my corsa sport exhaust http://www.elcova.com/infopop/emoticons/icon_wink.gif With the reflash, the H2 shifts much firmer like it should, almost gives you a little kick in the pants. You might also want to check out the Predator programmers, I've been hearing more and more good things about them. If you have any other questions, just ask.

The Land Cruiser is out of control. We run a 541c.i. Chevy (Merlin block) dyno'd at 830+hp. A 2" suspension lift added to a spring over axel conversion when sitting on the 38.5" boggers gives it about 12+" of lift over stock. We are almost done with a frame-off restoration of our 1972 1/2 ton Short box GMC. It has a 4" lift, 2" body lift sitting on 39" Super Swampers putting it at about 11" over stock.The GMC is running our old race engine out of the Land Cruiser that's a stroker 383c.i. in the 500 hp range (not dyno'd).Don't have any shots of the GMC saved on the computer yet. Our tow rig is a 2001 1 ton Chevy Dually Duramax with a Rancho 4" lift only in the front and Air bags in the rear to help with the weight of the 11.5 ft. cab over camper. We have added the "Edge" juice box to the Duramax to bring the HP up to about 390. We run around in the race pits on our Polaris 700 ATV.

Did you notice any change in ride quality when the lift kit was installed. I'm on the fence of installing this kit on my H2, because I love the way this truck rides. I lifted many vehicles in the past and some rode as well or better than stock and some were stiff and wandered all over the place. Any input would be appreciated.

Because everything is basically still stock, just moved down, the ride remains the same. The only exception is that the new 9000 series shocks that I got with the kit were dialed in at a higher level because of the higher center of gravity. The H2 is heavy and tends to lean in the turns. The wider wheels and tires help but stiffening the shocks up helps a lot more. Make sure you get the 9000's with the kit and not the 5000's so that you can have the ability to adjust them. I personally like my rigs to be a bit on the stiff side if they sit somewhat high. I assume that you already know that you are required to replace your stock wheels according to Rancho, although I didn't go with the backspacing they suggested.

Bad Dawg, that looks KILLER!!

I think that is the PERFECT height for an H2. Tall, but not TOO tall. I think they start to look a bit silly when they are jacked up too high, but yours looks the way it should have come from the factory.

Nice wheels, too. I really like them.

Mike, Thanks. We like these wheels because they seem to match the "chiseled" look of the H2.
We took off the side steps as soon as I got the time to do so. It's a stretch getting in, especially for my wife, but we both like the looks and usability of the rig much better. I like the idea of a retractable type but that would be just more stuff to get broken.
