Saw one today after coming back from dinner. It was getting dark, but could tell it was the new FJ cruiser (yellow). Look good. Was curious about everyone's opinion.

Are you still with the same hottie that I saw? She doesn't need augmented bewbies.
You have to use 91 octane gas in it. Now that's SUV enconomy.

It needs lower gears and larger stock tires. I have no idea as to how they made it stiff enough with those suicide doors (I hate those by the way, ever use any in a parking lot? They SUCK!) The rest is wait and see. Hey, didja hear that the Rubicon is going with the engine from the Pacifica? No real big increase but I'd think the inline6 is better for offroading.
Can't wait for Shaggy to see this thread.
Because of the size of it, he's going to have to become the Resident H3 Troll, and lose his H2 Troll status. http://www.elcova.com/infopop/emoticons/icon_wink.gif

Are we still talking about the FJ? I thought we had moved on to WannabeH3's GF bewbie augmentation. http://www.elcova.com/infopop/emoticons/icon_eek.gifhttp://www.websmileys.com/sm/crazy/boobywiggle_tweetz.gif

I didn’t think it was available yet.
Its kind of goofy looking almost like an 8 year old designed it. I can’t find any pic’s of the interior, other than the concept ones, and they look totally retarded. I hope they tone down all the exterior color usage on the dash.
I do think they did a couple of things right though.
For one, the front and rear Brushed Aluminum bumpers are a really nice touch for those that don’t want to go for the Chromed and “Bling-Tarded” look.

If those rims and tires are production and not just concept, they totally rock

I like the integrated 5-watt lights on the side mirrors. Useless on-road but still pretty cool
http://www.automotivearticles.com/uploads/fjcruisermirror.jpg
Rear sonar. That would be a much-needed addition to my H3
Cat Back Exhaust available from Factory (or dealer not sure which)
245 Hp (without the upgraded exhaust)
The suicide doors do suck but anything is better they trying to get a 2 year old into a car seat on a 2 door.
Clearly they are going after the Wrangler market and had it been available when I was purchasing my H3 I still would not have bought it.

Ugly as hell. Most true offroaders want functionality to take precedent over artistic design. What function does the ghey bubblish, easter egg styling have? To attract homos to buy it? It may give the liberty a run for the money on the gheyst SUV! I feel like they missed the market as most of my "yota friends make their toyo's look as tough as possible, not as ghey as possible.
Even if it performs equally as well as an h3, I just cant see offroaders buying that sissy looking truck....We'll see.
I know h2, h3 arent totallt\y designed for function like the h1 was, but after wheeling it, you can tell that offroading took precedent over outlandish styling. And at least they look rugged and took design cues from the h1 -- not the easter bunny.

I think it will do okay off road, has more ground clearance than the 3, more muscle, locking rear diff etc. But the curves and the lines do seem... odd, actually really odd. Three wiper blades??? The roof rack I think is stock wich looks like it includes a basket of sorts, but man that looks like its going to be a pain in the ass to load and unload. Gobi makes a great ladder for that... I'm sure someone will come up with one eventually for this. After market folks are going to have a tough time with that I think... putting on a larger basket aside from looking goofy is going to be way in the air. Also read one review that slammed the interior pretty hard as being plain. Mostly opinion type stuff, won't know till I see one in person... but I definately don't care for pastel colors... kinda looks like something you would expect to see on sesame street or maybe the muppets... hard for me to not visualize kermit behind the wheel everytime I see a picture.

Here's a video the Toyota crowd is proud of. For the life of me, I can't figure out why. The driver can't drive, he's launching with the too tall gearing over every rock only to sack down on every single rock he can. It sounds like a pile driver in concert. Yeah, it'll make it, but at what cost? New FJ gettin' the bejeezus banged out of it. (http://www.bc4x4.com/inthenews/default.cfm?ID=118)

Powering the FJ Cruiser is Toyota's 4.0-liter V6 engine, a proven motor also used in the 4Runner, Tacoma and Tundra. The engine pumps out 239 horsepower and 278 pound-feet of torque, the sort of grunt that comes in handy when traveling off-road or when towing. Those figures represent 19 more horsepower and 53 more pound-feet of torque than provided by the inline five-cylinder engine the Hummer H3 and 49 more horsepower and 43 more pound-feet than the inline-six in the Jeep Unlimited Rubicon.
The FJ Cruiser is rated to tow as much as 5000 pounds, 500 pounds more than the H3 and 4000 more than the Jeep.

Toyotas are great vehicles but, the new cruiser is not even close to the original cruiser. not a very good attempt at re-creating a great 4-by!

And a dump truck's got power too, what's your point here? One look at the tcase, it ain't serious. How strong's that long, unsupported roofline going to be in a rollover? By the way, that engine is no inline. I'd take the Jeep's engine over the V6 for offroading, and the H3's just fine. Yeah, yeah, yeah, we all know it could be more. When you're crawling with a 4:1 tcase, 4.56 gears, just how much horsepower does one need? Listening to that video, the FJ is a rev/drop/bonk monster, highly unpleasant. I've done too many creek bottoms on the rocks to put up with that.

I feel your pain about the looks, I think the new Mustang looks like total ass and the H3 looks like a puny anemic version of the H2 but people seem to like them, looks are totally subjective. The FJ has a unique look that a lot of people like, plus Land Cruiser owners have always been proud of their Cruisers odd looks.
I like the white roof but don’t really like the body colors offered. The initial color offering is just to link it to the old FJ40 colors. I would prefer red or all white, which should be available later in the year when the special off-road edition is released.

Pictures of FJ are ugly. Are they at the dealers yet? If so I'll stop by the local Toyota dealer near my office.

The FJ Cruiser just won someones (I think Motor Trend) latest and greatest shootout, beating the supposed SUV of the Year, the Xterra. The H3 was third, and the Liberty was last at least. But it just goes to show that the FJ is probably a passing trend. We all know the H3 will continue to reign supreme.
