View Full Version : Power Side Steps and Ice - anyone?
I am considering the Amp Power Steps http://www.amp-research.com/build/powerstep/index.asp?id=18 as a future upgrade, but am concerned of what would happen in the event that they got iced up. Anyone have these and have them frozen with ice? If so, how did the motor etc hold up?

I've had them for all of last winter and 2 months of snow this year and the only problem I have had is when it's SLUSHY/FREEZING out. Frozen slush/ice gathers on the bottom of the running board weighing it down so the motor doesn't have enough power to retract them up. Just kick off the slush/ice from the underside and it's fine.
Never had a motor problem(touch wood) http://www.elcova.com/infopop/emoticons/icon_biggrin.gif

That price is crazy. I just priced a set at over 500 bucks less.
