Just kidding you. My neighbor just brought home his newly lifted Jeep. Raised it seven inches with a custom lift. It's pretty bad, I must say.

Mike, My wife drives one and she loves and BELIEVE ME, that is not an attempt to slam you or the vehicle.

I love driving it. The stereo is nice and the ride is really solid. Our first Jeep and we are really happy with it.

Good luck with the Grand Cherokee.. I drove a 97' for Five years. It took me to some great locations, but after sinking over $10,000 into routine maintenance <transmission, radiator, hoses, etc., etc.> I am happy to be free of it. 7,000 miles on the H2, and haven't put a dime into it yet. Hum-on!

I know they're not the most reliable of vehicles. But I've put 24k on mine with no trouble other than routine maintanence.

Right now it's just about to hit 66k, and so far so good...knock on wood.

Nice pics...I hope that lifted picture was before you put on larger wheels/tires? I would imagine the hardcore Jeep community finds your ride absurd...being that it's not the classic Wrangler style. No problem...as a "freak" your more then welcome here!!

Yeah, I never got around to getting larger tires after I lifted it. I've been at a few different stages with the lift.

At first I just lifted it 2" with coil spacers. I went up from the stock 225/70R16's to 245/75R16's.

Then I got greedy and wanted more lift. I bought a 3.5" kit, that once installed actually gave me closer to 5" of lift. I didn't want that much lift, because I didn't want to raise my center of gravity that much. Plus, it handles kinda funny, and it owuld have cost me more money than I was willing to spend to fix it. I did love the ride though, it rode much better than stock.

So I sold that lift about a month and a half later, and went back to the 2" lift, which is my current configuration. I also have aftermarket adjustable front and rear track bars, and quick disconnect front swaybar links.

My Jeep does seem small compared to some of the other Grands that are out there, but it actually is a fairly typical setup. It works amazingly well, people are always surprised the first time I wheel with them.

The Wrangler guys are pretty cool with Grand owners. There is also a group of hardcore Grand Cherokee owners out there that do some amazing stuff. In some cases, the Grands do BETTER than the Wranglers, because the longer wheelbase helps on alot of obstacles.

Now I'm not at all opposed to getting an H2.
