The race is underway right now. Looks like the H1 is in 2nd place.

Looks like Red Team's Sandstorm HMMWV has finished, and by my calculations will probably hold onto first, with their H1 coming in 3rd.

The H1 slowed down towards the end for some reason, need to wait and read the reports as to what happened to it, because it led in miles covered for the first 75 miles.

I was there in Primm Nevada yesterday for this
DARPA Grand Challenge race! It was quite well run.
The Hummer entries from CMU were very good,
but the race was won by the VW Touareg entry of
Stanford University, also an excellent vehicle.

Have you guys driven a Touareg? I would compare the Touareg
to the H3 even though the H3 is significantly less expensive.
Touareg has a boatload of luxuries but H3 has the luxuries
that are most important such as smooth ride and quiet interior.
Touareg is apparently capable off-road and has things such
as locking differential, but certainly the looks of the Touareg
are not as striking and appropriate as with the H3.

Anyone want links to pictures and news about the
DARPA Grand Challenge? I haven't downloaded
the pictures from my own camera yet.

I agree that an H3 entry would have been great for this!
