"First Rule of XM-Club, Listen To Klaus!"
My TNR-Navigation & XM saga continues:
Purchased a used INR (non-touch screen) and brand new GM XM Radio Kit http://www.elcova.com/infopop/emoticons/icon_biggrin.gif
“Professional” installer breaks the headliner trying to install the GM XM Radio antenna http://www.elcova.com/infopop/emoticons/icon_mad.gif
INR installed http://www.elcova.com/infopop/emoticons/icon_smile.gif
Can’t find a damn GM dealer that will program the INR to my VIN http://www.elcova.com/infopop/emoticons/icon_mad.gif
Returned both INR and GM XM Radio and bought a brand new TNR (Klaus told me to get a new TNR from the beginning) http://www.elcova.com/infopop/emoticons/icon_frown.gif
New headliner in http://www.elcova.com/infopop/emoticons/icon_rolleyes.gif
New TNR and aftermarket XM Radio installed http://www.elcova.com/infopop/emoticons/icon_biggrin.gif
Extremely poor Navigation reception and XM Radio works but the artist, song and preset displays awry! http://www.elcova.com/infopop/emoticons/icon_mad.gif
Took apart the dash myself and found GPS antenna connection bad, easy fix http://www.elcova.com/infopop/emoticons/icon_smile.gif
Discovered that the VSS wire was never installed http://www.elcova.com/infopop/emoticons/icon_mad.gif
This Friday I have an appointment to get the VSS installed and the XM “fixed.” They used a P.I.E. adapter (I know, Klaus warns against this).
Lesson? Should have listened to Klaus in the first place and bought a new TNR and stuck with the GM-XM Kit! Three months of pain!

In SoCal, a portapotty would have cost $200K (if you're also buying the 5'x5' land it's sitting on..) http://www.elcova.com/infopop/emoticons/icon_eek.gif

Go ahead and get the GM XM Kit. You'll be happy (provided they install it correctly).
