OH MY LORD I have been working my fingers to the bone getting ready for a trade show
with my one item. Everyone says it takes that one special item to make you wealthy!!!
And I have finally created it!!! For those of you who don't know, I am a potter and
and I also own a very small cosmetic company that makes Tattoo After care lotion. And yes...I have a couple of Tattoos. How else would I know the stuff works that I make huh???
Okay, so now most folks have this impression of a biker chick of the infamous HummerGirl!!! LOL!!!

GREAT Show... Nicely done. The History channel usually re-plays stuff quite a bit. This one is worth recording!

it's a foot scrubber! Gets off all of those dead skin cells off your feet and helps remove calluses. It's nothing new to have clay hygiene tools. Folks have used them for centuries. I have used one since 1990 when a professor taught us how to make them.
This one is of a croco-gator...I don't know which one it is. LOL, but it's the latest in my line.
These are sold all over the US, Canada, and just recently sent a shipment to New Zealand.
So the other item that's catching on fast is the Tatoo after care lotion/cream.

Your in Lebanon. I go there a couple of times a month. Never seen an H2 though.
By the way that Black Hummer that is in it with the odd looking (pre-runner) brush guard on it is located 5 miles from my house.
Did watch the HC show, but saw H2 appearing less than two seconds, hiding behind three H1s.
http://www.elcova.com/infopop/emoticons/icon_confused.gif Or did I tune in too late?
Got good impression of H1, though.
Maybe an alternative for follow up of H2, when H3 doesn't turn out like a Hummer is intended to be. http://www.elcova.com/infopop/emoticons/icon_biggrin.gif

ckhagman - I am in Florida at the moment so the H2 is down here with me - the wife has a Thunderbird up there.
There are two H2s in Lebanon - mine and a friend of ours with a white one.

I thought the show was pretty dumb. It glossed over things, and distorted H1 facts and H2 facts.
The said the H1 gets 12 MPG, but it really gets 13 to 15, on diesel. The H2 tends to get 12, on gas. The few H1s made that ran gas got 5 to 6.
They said the H1 costs $122,000.00 but no one ever pays that. You can get one brand spanking new and fully loaded for $80,000, and the military never paid more than about $25,000 for theirs.
They said the H2 is just an SUV with GM parts -- neglecting the fact that H1 has a GM engine and interior, etc. and neglecting the fact that the H2 has many redesigned and new parts, shares some with the H1, and had a locker before the H1, etc.
They said the H1 cannot roll over. Hmm. what's this?
http://www.rawconcepts.com/vehicles/hummer/Rolled/Bos-Roll1.JPG
Anything can roll. The H2 has the exact same side slope ability as the H1, but accomplishes it with less width!
They showed an H1 running over a car, which is about the worst image you can put out to the public. They went out of their way to emphasize the bling-bling factor of the trucks and not the utility: they go on and on about the head turning, MSRP, etc. That's Tactical to Practical? Come on. If your Practical is fashion, then maybe you have a point.
"They said the H1 costs $122,000.00 but no one ever pays that. You can get one brand spanking new and fully loaded for $80,000, and the military never paid more than about $25,000 for theirs."
Actually, the military pays close to $60,000 depending on the configuration, of which there are many.

I blame the wealthy meat-head they interviewed and road along with. This guy is about the worst representation of a Hummer owner. C'mon how about Arnold driving this thing around or someone cool like one of us but not the rich geek driving on top of a car! That guy was a total dickhead!

As usual, you can only count on the woman in the group to have a modicum of sense. That was my H2 in the spots, and me driving through the water. In fact, they were shooting that show the same day as the pics I posted of my H2 fording deep water.
Steve is not a dickhead, and as usual, television shows about 2% of the footage they shot.
I thought the show was pretty well done.

Yep I have an eye for detail and I spotted Kelley first hand as I saw her go through the water. Gee I couldn't have missed it seeing that I made her movie avatar with the clips she provided on the forum one day.
And I totally agree with what they say about the camera as I have done numerous blips for the local tv stations on pottery or art. Remember SteveR (the insulation man) and his interview on TV when the H2 hit the market. He said they editing tons of what he said. Remember TV is only fluff.
I was dissappointed as they totally missed out on the "practical" issue. The H2 in my own opinion is more practical than the H1. But in the future, as the point they were making, we will see more cars/suv hybrids that are able to do more than just commute.
The guy did say that one "idiot" rolled a Hummer. And the point that I received was that the Hummer is only as good as the driver.
Another thing totally unrelated...
Don't you just love how oncoming traffic just veers outta your way like you are going to jump over the yellow lines and maul them? I know I am not over the line as I can see the line in my mirrors. but it still cracks me up.

I didn't see the spot yet but what did this guy look like. Was it Ron Bomhoff from The Hummer Club or someone else?
kelleymac2000
09-11-2003, 11:58 AM
Ron was in this segment, but he's not the guy that these threads refer to.
Steve Chan is the guy in the brown (the real color name escapes me at the moment) H1 wagon who drove over cars in this segment.

Actually,
Steve was the President of the Bay Area Chapter of the Hummer Club. A local chapter of the national organization. I am on the Board of Directors of the National Organization.
I didn't feel put down at all. Just wanted to clarify. I got involved in BAHA through Steve, but was appointed to the Board later. http://www.elcova.com/infopop/emoticons/icon_smile.gif

I'm Steve R and even I'm confused about all the references to "Steve's" in this thread.
The tragedy in all this...is that we're all grossly overlooking the REAL star of that show: Mark Weber, aka Webman...now there ya have a solid guy to represent the Hummer community! he was out there representin' and keeping it real with his kick-ass slantback!!
The editors & directors tweak and twist stuff to produce the show they wish to. Take from it the good and don't get emotional over the rest.

Oops i forgot. I was actually thinking of Fred Chin. I didn't realize it until I saw it when I got home tonight.
Even still he is a great hummer guy. Never met him but I know A LOT of Hummer owners since participating in an on-line community since 1996.
Steve your right. Mark's video's are great. I can't wait until I get back on the internet at a faster speed in November so that I can catch up on his and others work.

Mark Weber...so that's the identity of the infamous Webman. Cool. I've seen some of his video's and they are great. He seems like one of those old-school guys that is still personable and friendly. One thing for sure...he's fearless when it comes to offroading! We could use a guy like that out here in California...

Ok Steve you sucked me in. I can no longer just lurk behind the scenes of this forum. Thank You for the compliments everyone. I love anything Hummer and just love being off road. As far as fearless goes, Well I am not to sure about that. I have been very fortunate to learn from some of the very best the Hummer world has to offer. I love to make movies from our events, I never stop being amazed at what these trucks are capable of.
As the President of the Wisconsin HUMMER Owners club I have been following this forum to see how it applies to our h2 members. This place is an awesome resource for owners and I will continue to recomend it to our owners.
Thank You

Let's be realistic .... the show was not that bad ... it did not "slam" the Hummer, it only gave one view .... again, not negative.
Regarding the part about the H2 as an "SUV with GM parts" -- well, it really is ( and yes, there are a small amount of Hummer proprietary parts ) and what is wrong with that ? The design and engineering is not GM nor is any other GM vehicle capable of performing like the H2 ... the H2 has its own design and engineering ... thus, the amazing capabilities. So as I said, who cares if they used GM parts to assemble my amazing H2 ? I am lucky, just think about it ... GM parts are interchangeable so the prices to buy parts is lower and over time will remain lower ... as the junk yards fill up with GM trucks and SUV's over time, again there will be plenty of parts available to maintain your H2 affordably.

It's all about perspective...
The H1 is loaded with all sorts of parts. I may not have the mix perfectly right...but from what I hear, there are parts from GM, Ford, Chrysler and a host of other manufacturers in that thing. The H1 is no pure-breed by any stretch of the imagination.
Several H1 owners have come to regard the utilization of GM parts as a positive aspect. After getting the pricing and availability of some H1 exlusive parts...nobody bats an eyelash at the convenience, affordability and availability of time-tested GM parts! I understnad an H2 heater-core to cost about $175, whereas an H1's cost about $2,500....come on back good buddy???
You want the truth??? Here's the truth: the unique dynamic that makes a Hummer a Hummer is this: fully independent suspension, gear-driven hubs for amazing clearance and CTIS. The H2 doesn't really have these features...it's more along the lines of conventional SUV's...but it is packed with lots of reinforcement, a super 4x4 system and lots of great feaures...
Bottom line: we're having a blast with 'em!!! And aside from a weak tie-rod issue, they seem to be pretty darn solid. The smiles on our faces says enough! http://www.elcova.com/infopop/emoticons/icon_biggrin.gif

The spot is called "Tactical to Practical" and I believe it's #1. Unfortunately, they are only showing #3-4 right now, but keep an eye out for reruns of #1.
