It seems as though I will be moving to the UAE soon. Anyone have experience shipping an H2 (or other vehicle) from the US to the GCC?

Good luck. Never shipped to UAE but brought several other vehicles in to Saudi Arabia....hopefully not nearly as painful. Had a level three armored Cadi stuck in port for 8 months. Customs sucks, not knowing the realative comparisons, I would suggest just selling and leasing or buying another from a local dealer once you get there.

I sold a Pro-Mod Lightning Truck to a a guy In Dudai about a year ago. I had it shipped from Ft Lauderdalein a closed container. It took 32 days of travel time before it arrived unharmed.
Make sure to insure your hummer. The crates of known to fall off the ships during rough weather in the ocean.
Best of Luck

Forgot to mention shipping costs....The race truck was 2700. to ship. [ 2700lbs] I'm sure the H2 will be more due to the weight increase.
With all the bad things going on over in that part of the world, It scares me to hear you might be moving there. My prayers are with you...........Jason

Trainwreck,

Where are you moving to in the UAE?

I'll be over there sometime in July, minus my H1 though.

Probably go to UAE in May to scout out office space and a place to live.

Most likely in Abu Dhabi semi-permanently for at least 18 months starting from 1 June.

I have done some quad riding in the dunes outside Dubai - absolutely awesome!! (I also did it with some landcruisers, no where near as exciting.)

If there are about 400 (which I don't doubt), then the Hummer will be just about as common as the Prius' clogging the express lanes around Washington.
