New member just saying hi. I have had my 03 H2 for about a month and am very pleased with it. This is my first GM product after years of Ford trucks. It seems like a great website (I have been spectating for awhile) Does anyone else have a squeaky tailgate? Thanks.

Welcome HummMe.

I have 12000 miles on my 03 Red H2 with no tailgate squeak. You or dealer should be able to fix that.

My vehicle had the same tailgate squeek and I used this remedy and have not heard a peep since.

Had my tailgate removed, re-aligned, and weather-strip applied last week. No creaks or rattles since even over the worst bumps. Dealer knew exactly what I was talking about without question.

welcome,
sorry you've already had issues. I've got about 20,k miles on mine and have had nothing but sweet miles!!! I hope you have the same from now on. In case you didn't read my post about armorall, DON'T USE IT on the interior. I did and had every place in the dash and the doors squeeking where they rubbed.... I thought I had bought a pinto. some teflon spray made it "smooth like buttu" again. Armorall is crap on the inside in a vehicle that has so much plastic.
Enjoy bro.

Thanks for all the replies I will try the foam adhesive this weekend. I tried bending the metal away from the rubber lip on the bumper but the noise was still there. I went as far as removing the rubber seal off of the bumper entirely and the noise is still there. Oh well if I didnt have that squeak what could I complain about?

I'm curious about all of your squeaks-- from the rear bumper?? Mine has never had that problem-- I'm concearned about such fixes....... any time I hear somebody say anything about "bending metal" to fix the problem. Do you have a gun? Related to H2 you are wondering???!!! Teflon is a common gun lube, and I challenge you to use some in areas that are making noise-- it made mine even more quiet than from the factory. Good luck, enjoy, and like the previous post, when all else fails in the world of fixing squeaks and other HUMMER noise, turn up the radio!!!

Gasman I just dont understand how you say you have never had these problems or noises and a couple sentences later you say you have used teflon to fix your own squeaks? http://www.elcova.com/infopop/emoticons/icon_confused.gifAs far as turning up the radio-I shouldnt have to do that on a $55k truck. I dont here the noise with the radio turned up but when my 5 month old son is sleeping in the backseat I keep the stereo low and that noise drives me insane. I will take your advice though and try some teflon. Thanks.
