Ok not hummer, but Can any one tell me if you have air being forced into the master cylinder when you press the brake pedal ( on a 98 Z71). Is there something wrong with the power assist or is it a master cylinder failure?

Jerry-
What makes you think that air is pushed into the master? The booster is connected to the master thru a push rod..
The isn't anyway for air to be forced into the master cylinder.
Can you give anymore details?
More details--if you had excess air in the brake system, you would have brake fade or nrake failure.
Did you bleed the brakes to determine if there is air in your system?
Brake fluid breaks down over time, creating some air in the system. Bleed and replace fluid.
