How has everyone's Hummer dealership experience been? I'm always looking for ways to improve myself, so I'd love to hear how other dealers have been treating people.

I had a great experience with Bachman HUMMER in Louisville, KY, great people, only problem was that they would not accept GMID at that time*. So I called Lynch HUMMER in St. Louis, MO and have had excellent service all the way from the receptionist who answers the phone, to Jim Lynch who personally emailed me and invited me to let him take us out on the trails out back when we pick up the H3. So far, I could not say a bad word about anyone I've dealt with at these two dealerships. *I understand Bachman is now accepting GMID.

My salesman (an older Cadillac guy) called me on my cell phone @ 8pm on Saturday night because he found out I was there while the car carrier was unloading my H3 and he was not. He was as excited about my H3 arriving as I was! We talked for about 5 minutes about my experience.

When a salesperson shows alot of excitement about a product, that product will sell.

He called me today to tell me it would be ready tomorrow around 1pm because he had to send the new H3's back through detailing 2 times to get them just the way he wanted...

What he probably meant was that he had an earlier delivery and would not get to mine until 1pm, but his "detailing" approach made me belive that he really cared.

Perception is everything...

My experience with my dealership has not been bad, but I would have to call it disappointing. This is really due to lack of knowledge and follow through. I do know there are others here that have had bad experiences with the same dealership and those that have had good experiences. I would say the best thing you can do is be up front and honest about everything. Don't try to BS customers. They are getting more knowledgeable everyday and if they catch you, your done. The other big complaint that I have heard is you need to do what you say you are going to do. Whether it's check on an accessory or call the customer the next day with more info. Too many are not following up with their customers. I truly believe that Hummer is in a unique situation that is great for the dealerships but not for the customer. Due to the low number of dealerships, many Hummer dealers seem to think they don't need to work for your business. I get the impression that they figure we are not going to drive 2 hours to the next dealership so we need them more than they need us. Very bad for business. Just my 2 cents.

If you are in the Colorado/Wyoming area steer clear of Medved in Denver. They are unresponsive and are your stereotypical used-car salesmen. Hummers to them are just another car line they use to stick it to their customers. They stick everything they can (like pin striping) on all of their vehicles and then add tons of markups to the sticker price. The sales department are real losers.

On the other hand, White’s Mountain in Casper Wyoming, is a fantastic dealership. They are enthused about the Hummer line, knowledgeable, willing to work with you, and generally a real pleasure to deal with. A world of difference.

I would definitely suggest that anyone in the Toledo OH/Downriver Detroit area go to Ed Schmidt Hummer in Maumee OH. They are just an amazing dealership. Everyone is so friendly and definitely not like a typical car salesperson. I've been dealing with their information guy and let me tell you....I've asked the poor guy just about anything and everything I can think of and he's always been great with his reply's. I've been to the showroom about 200 times now and am treated like family. Just a great dealership!

BERGSTROM HUMMER IN MENOMINEE FALLS WISCONSIN.

THESE SALES PEOPLE WOULDNT KNOW HOW TO SELL A BAG OF POPCORN! I AM A H3 OWNER AND I HAVE A CO-WORKER WHO REALLY WANTS TO BUY A H3 AND SO HE AND HIS HOT GIRLFRIEND WENT TO BERGSTROM WITH HIS CHECKBOOK IN ONE HAND AND TITLE TO HIS OTHER VEHICLE IN HIS OTHER HAND READY TO GO AND HE WAS TOLD THAT HE WOULD BE TAKEN CARE OF AS SOON AS A SALESMAN WAS AVAILABLE. ALL THE SALES PEOPLE WERE OUT ON TEST DRIVES WITH OTHER CUSTOMERS. 45 MIN LATER NO HELP, SO HE BAILED. OK, IT WAS A SATURDAY AND IT WAS BUSY AND PERHAPS HE JUST GOT THERE AT A BAD TIME. SO WE GO DOWN TO BERGSTROM ON A THURSDAY DURING OUR LUNCHTIME WE GO DOWN IN HIS 2004 TOYOTA 4X4 TRUCK(Truck paid for), HES READY TO DO THE DEAL. WE ARRIVED AND NOT ONE SALESAMAN CAME TO OUR ASSISTANCE, IN FACT, THE LOT BOY WAS OUR FIRST CONTACT AFTER WALKING AROUND THE LOT FOR 20 MINUTES. ANOTHER FEW MINUTES LATER, I DECIDED TO GO INSIDE AND GET A SALESMAN.(By this time I was embarrassed
cuase I told my friend that it was a fluke that he didnt get taken care of on his first trip to Bergstrom, because I was sure the Bergstrom dealership was a good outfit and we would get excellent treatment once WE got there.)NOPE! I HAD TO SEEK FOR SOME HELP AND WE GOT A SALESMAN WHO SHOULD BEEN BETTER OFF SELLING FRUIT ON THE ROADSIDE. THIS GUY WAS NOT MOTIVATED OR HELPFUL. IN FACT THIS CLOWN SAID RIGHT OFF THE BAT THAT THE DEALERSHIP WILL NOT NEGOTIATE WITH THE H3 PRICE. THIS GUY WAS A COMPLETE LOSER ALL HE WANTED TO TALK ABOUT WAS HIS TIME AS A PILOT IN THE MILITARY, WHICH HALF THE INFO HE WAS TELLING US WASNT EVEN CORRECT. HE DIDNT EVEN KNOW HIS PRODUCT. HE WAS'NT INTERESTED IN EVEN LOOKING AT THE TRADE IN. HE NEVER ENGAGED IN POSITIVE CONVERSATION. HIS SHIRT LOOKED LIKED HE SLEPT IN IT AND HIS FLY WAS OPEN! wtf!!! BERGSTROM SALES, YOU ALL SUCK!!! I HOPE MY H3 GETS BETTER TREATMENT IN THE MAINTANANCE DEPT. (( BERGSTROM = FREAKY BASTARDS ))

I purchased from Hummer of Bellevue, WA, it's a Litha motors dealership and is next to their Chevy location.

When the wife and I pulled in with the Beetle the salesman standing out front said he was meeting someone and would call another sales person. BEST THING THAT COULD HAVE HAPPENED. http://www.elcova.com/infopop/emoticons/icon_wink.gif

Johnny came out; he was sharp and knew the product inside and out. We took a test drive in the only H3 they had in the lot and then set down and picked one out of the book, Slate Blue with adventure package and towing, and made a deposit. Goof ball by the front door never did have anyone meet him, I think he saw the Beetle and decide we were a waste of his time. I went over and showed him the order when we left just to rub it in.

Two month’s latter on my way to work I saw the car hauler with my Slate Blue on the top back position heading into Bellevue. I resisted calling and at 2PM Johnny called to tell me it was prepped and ready for pickup.

We took both the Beetle and our VW Eurovan weekender in to see what they would give us for trade for either. My wife had to buy a 4WD also since we had moved above the snow line this spring. They gave me a fair first offer on the Beetle and low-balled the van by $7K. I traded the Beetle on the Hummer and we traded the Eurovan for $8K more than the Hummer dealer offered a week latter on a Nissan Xterra. Couldn’t talk the wife into a Hummer also, but she likes to drive mine. The Nissan dealer is next door to and owned by the VW dealer who understood the value of a pop-top VW van.

Johnny asked if I wanted any of the extra packages and gave the correct amount of push back when we said no. We were paying cash so the Finance guy experience was just signing the required forms.

All in all it was a great buying experience and they threw in a tire cover, hardback soft sided with “of Bellevue” in a nice size below the Hummer logo.

Here's a pick of my new tire cover headed down the drive to the house. No question about why I bought a hummer.

I have already documented most of my trials here in Central Florida. Needless to say, my endeavor to order an H3 over the past month has been a most frustrating experience. I am now three weeks into my third attempt to buy an H3, but I have not yet received a straight answer from my salesman about my order. I'm paying cash. I've never found it harder to give away 38,000 hard earned dollars!

He has been very nice on the phone, but he is always busy, and so when I call to ask if I actually have a vehicle on order, I get short answers like "you golden bud", or "you in da chute", or "you all taken care of, everything is right here on my desk". I'm not sure exactly what any of that means, and he doesn't seem to have the time to elaborate. I keep trying to get him to take a deposit, and he always puts me off until early next week, and then when early next week comes, he tells me that he will take the deposit later in the week. I asked for an order number and he was going to have his inventory manager get back to me, but that never happened.

I have asked for some sort of printout of the order so that I could verify the config, but I have received nothing of the sort. I'm guessing that, for some reason, GM has not yet accepted the order (this was the case with the previous dealer). I faxed them a printout from the Hummer site with my configuration, but it seems that I will have to wait two+ months for delivery before I can verify that the order was placed in the manner that I requested. I am resigned to the fact that I will just have to let it go, and then one day out of the blue someone will call me and tell me that my slate blue, manual trans, lux, adv. pack has arrived. I just hope that it does not show up dressed in white, with chrome wheels, no sunroof, and and automatic trans! http://www.elcova.com/infopop/emoticons/icon_wink.gif

I would seriously be considering taking a drive up the unannounced so they can not push you off and you will know what the facts are. I was not happy with my dealer but you had a worse experience with them then I did. I feel for you man.

I have been dealing with Reeves in Tampa and so far they have been fantastic. My salesman is also the Sales Manager. He has been very prompt about answering questions and he called yesterday to say that my H3 was built last week and is going through the final stages (due in on 8/31), plus he gave me the order number and last digits of the VIN. I have bought way too many cars over the years and have had to deal with the good and bad dealerships...luckily the good have far out-weighed the others!

H3 Witch,
I called and talked to a salesman at Reeves. He was going to get on my order "right away", and so I emailed him my stuff and I waited five days with no word. I finally called him back, and he did not know who I was. He appologized profusely, went back, dug through his old emails, found my stuff, and called me to tell me that, if I really wanted this package, they would have to order it and it would take a long time, which I already knew. These guys were 150 miles away, and so at that point I decided to try the Jacksonville dealer because they were closer. That was three weeks ago. Sounds like you might take delivery of your H3 before I ever get an order confirmation!

Newbie,
I am going up to Jacksonville on Saturday for a preseason football game (who the heck goes to preseason games?). I intend to drop into the dealership and get some firm answers. I have long since stopped fretting about this, and now I am just letting things fall where they may. Maybe I'll end up with a 2007 model (ha ha) http://www.elcova.com/infopop/emoticons/icon_smile.gif

Bought mine from Hummer of Bellevue - overall a very positive experience. Went in on June 23rd and placed an order with delivery expected in about five weeks.

Two hours later I received a call from the salesman - a customer had just cancelled on one that had everything I wanted except for the chrome package and tube steps.

I decided I could live without the chrome, and the salesman agreed to throw in the tube steps if I installed them myself. He told me I could pick it up the next day.

They weren't negotiating on the list price, but they gave me a fair price for my trade-in, and didn't pressure me on extended warranty or extras. Paid cash, so no financing issues.

Only glitch was at delivery - they forgot to include my $1000 deposit when they wrote up the deal. I was so excited that I didn't notice until the next day, and when I called the salesman he had already noticed their mistake and asked finance to issue a refund.

So far I've been very happy with my H3, and I wouldn't hesitate to recommend Bellevue Hummer.

That is pretty much the position that I have taken for the past month or two. Enjoy the game Saturday and hopefully that can give you some concrete info.

I just bought my H3 from Gerry Lane in Baton Rouge, LA. Everyone there was great! They were very responsive and easy to deal with. They also honored my GMID certificate! I would recommend them to anyone.

I have been lurking on this board for the past couple of weeks. Now that I am an H3 owner, I figured it was a good time to sign up.

I posted my Dealership experience in other posts. The short version is that the Dealer cracked my windshield during Marker Light Installation. Dealer had a hard time getting windshield from GM.. being that car is so new. Bottom Line is.. I live 1.5 hours from Dealer.. Dealer gave me loaner car while my car was in shop.. When Glass came in... Dealer sent driver to pick up my H3 and leave Loaner.. When repairs were completed... Dealer sent driver to deliver my H3 and pick up loaner... During the whole experience the Dealership did their best to please... I now have my H3 back and I am happy.. Dealership called back this afternoon to make sure everything was okay.. So in perspective... I felt the Dealership did a great job... Fitzpatrick Chevy Hummer in Concord, CA.

$535.00 for part.. $270.00 labor. This was the dealers first install. When Windshield was replaced...Dealer took Marker Lights apart, and re-installed.. Only because Tech wasn't happy with first attempt.. The Fit now is tighter and I'm very happy with it...
