caution in using armorall wipes

I have had the bad experience of using armorall wipes on my H2 interior. It caused more squeaking of the interior (ie the doors) than I ever imagined. I fixed the trouble with spray lube which returned my interior to an entirely noiseless situation. There is enough outside noise (on the highway) in the H2-- having interior noise(including even the sunroof button). Eliminating extra noises has been heavenly. I'll never use armorall again on my H2, and would encourage the same. If you've ever used "it" you know what I mean.

I second this thought.

Do not ever use armorall on the interior of a vehicle. Use warm water on a damp cloth to clean the interior. The gloss levels on the interior are too high as it is. Armorall only promotes gloss. Interiors look much better when the plastic components are not a "mirror" finish. Low gloss is the way to go.

On the inside, I like those electrostatic cling dry wipes my wife raves about to get dust in hard to reach places. Armorall works great on all that exterior plastic.

I have heard from several people to use Pledge. It does not harm the interior like amorall does.

Years ago I used to use armorall on my tires as well as the dash. After awhile I could see small spider cracks throughout the entire tire as well as the dash. Somebody had once told me not to use it because it causes cracks. They were right!!!

Throughout my life I have heard many negative things about armorall. It contains alcohol that evaporates and makes things worse. How does this product survive all the negative word of mouth?

right--- armorall creates the tire equivalent of a crack addict; it suffers badly if you don't use it religiously.
Pledge, huh???? never heard that. I'll have to check out the nonstatic whipes.
I also wonder if you guys and gals have a proven cleaner for the plexiglass (gauge faces and speedometer face covering) that will take off the dust/dirt without scratching?

I've also found that armorall does well for the black plastic outside(I don't have the chrome package so there's lots of black plastic) other than the tires, which I learned years ago that armorall will result in cracks.

The pledge recomendation comes from a custom car interior specialist in Nashville. They get all of the interior leather work from the benz and bmw dealer in town. They both recommend them. So I have used it and no problems here.

I use this stuff made by 3M. I forgot the name but its some sort of glaze. It dries to a smooth, non sticky, not greasy finish. I'll look at the bottle later & post the name.

The only problem is it smells like ass in the car for a day.
