My back bumper on my 03 H2 has lost it's black look. I have tried all kinds of cleaners and plastic shine products. They work for about a day then it goes back to that grey look. Is this covered under the waranty?

That's a good question!
Mine has also faded, but armorall seems to help it out for a while. Eventually after a good washing, it looks faded again.

Try this http://www.janvil.com/plastic_polish.htm
No guarantees from me and I'm not pushing it. Just thought it might do the job.

gm has a bulletin on this. There is a type of cleaner that the dealer can get. It's called something like Armadillo cleaner or something like that. It brings back the shine great. They can cover that under warrnaty. The bulletin is listed under Escalades if I remember, but your dealer should still cover it under warranty. I'm a little busy this minuite, but if you still need help let me know and I'll find that bulletin.

I had a Chevy Avalanche before my H2, and had fading issues with all the plastic panels on the truck. I tried almost all the products available to restore the luster and color to the plastic and found one product that definitely stands out from the rest. 3M Marine Vinyl Cleaner and Restorer ($7.88 at Walmart)works the best. It does not run onto the paint when it rains and holds up through several car washings. I find that if you spray it heavy on a sponge or rag and wipe down all your black plastic, then go over it with a clean rag wiping up the excess and buffing it to a shine gives good results. I still use this product on my H2 on the bumpers, wheel well trim and the luggage rack rails on the roof. I have tried several other products like Armor All and Mothers Back to Black and others and found them to run down onto the paint in the rain and also disappear after a rain or 1 washing.

I have faded spots on my rear bumper. The dealer told me it was from washer fluid. He also suggested something to clean it up, but I have forgotten what he said. Call them and ask the detail shop what they use.
Simple Green might work. I use it to get the oxidation and black marks off fiberglass and such.

If you do a search on some website that sell jeep products you will find something......I think it's called forever black....works great. I beleive www.quadratec.com (http://www.quadratec.com) carries it.
