I have a smallish Charcoal grill that I can bring if we want.

BTW...I can go days without pooping in the woods...so I am not worried about bags. :D

Charcoal is out right now, Propane only, and you need a campfire permit. (Only one person in th group needs one).

Oh yeah...see...if I had been paying attention I might have seen that...although with all the "you can't make it" posts I have resorted to just kind of skimming over posts :jump:

This whole trip is Propane only. No fires, no charcoal, there are even some common sense restrictions on smoking!

What day are you planning on coming off the trail? Saturday or Sunday? I may drive up and go in part way from Homewood and see if I run into you.

It'd be great to see you again! Shoot for Saturday.

Well that doesn't bother me in the least. I look forward to wheeling with you again, Alec. I'm sure no one else will mind.

I made one of my favorite dishes tonight. Aunt Betty's potatoes in the Dutch oven. (I've never done it on a grill in a dutch oven before) Now I have concrete potatoes to clean out of the bottom of the dutch oven. :( The top layer was really good though! I made them when Adam was at my house visiting, but thank heavens they weren't stuck to the bottom of the dish!

What's everyone's favorite Dutch oven recipe? We can cook a couple on the trail.

Mine is definitely my breakfast caserole. Sausage, bacon, hashbrowns and eggs. The eggs are scrambled and poured on top of the other ingredients so it mixes inbetween all the other stuff. Tobasco tops it off nicely. Milk chaser. Coffee to finish.

What's the latest on a hotel? I need to make reservations. Can we leave gear there? I have a truckload we have been carrying since we Left. I really don't want to carry that all the way through the trail.

LOL...your idea of food to bring when camping is definately different then mine. I tend to stick to granola bars and cereal bars for breakfast and lunch, and burgers or brats for dinner. Cheap and easy. :D

Where are you driving in from? Southern Cal, or Nevada?

If you still have my phone number, call me, or pm me. I'll give you the details then.

I guess we could all sit around the grill and unwrap granola bars and eat that. That sounds like a great time. I've never met a Male that would LOL at a hot meal.:p
