Thanks for the review I sell Warn products myself and I am not bad to work with either. But thanks for the suggestion. Segway for a plug: http://www.angryiron.com I have had a few customers interested but were not sure as they have not seen the Warn Bumper up close and personal. I tried to assure them because I have never really seen a bad Warn product. Yours is the first I have seen other than the adds. I have talked with MM and supposedly they are working on some thing also. After I finish the current project HMMWV Trail Truck we are calling the Berserker. I will be starting two H2 projects which are on the waiting list. One of them could include a bumper of this type. Sure to be cool. Oh by the way I do like your truck.

So I got the bike rack and ski rack installed. Thought I'd share some pics. got the ideas from the SUT prototype pics. I't a combo from Gobi, Yakima, and Timgco.

Like to take the dogs with, so I made a platform for the inside. All the gear stays in the back under the cover

Also relocated the rear plate. Had to move license plate light too.

Well other than I'm not a big fan of Crack-n-Fail (aka Cannondale...have broken 3 frames and now ride a Specialized Big Hit DH and a Brooklyn Machine Works Link Bike with full Avalanche Suspension), that is ONE SICK SUT. The rack, black wheels, and BFG mud's totally make the car.

Great job timgco! Can you access the truck bed with those bikes up there?
|
Like the rack and lights etc...
Can you park in your garage with that ? Are those brake-lights in the outer bumper area ? -SssH2 ![]() |
Looks great, Tim!
Any chance you might post a parts/shopping list? |
looks great Tim...can't wait for my rack to arrive. Sandra said it may be done by the end of this week. I like the TimG take on the dirt sports concept

Thanks guys.
Dochummer: Yes you can still get into the bed with the bikes up there. You just fold the tailate down. You cannot lift the cover withthe bikes on there though. SssH2: Yes I still fit in the garage.. without the bikes on. All of the SUT and SUV's now have the rear end with the brake lights. I was shocked when I was at the dealer this week and saw them on all of their SUV's too. Rodster: 1) Gobi Stealth Rack with extra bar mounted in place. (special order)(call me if you want this done). 2) Yakima Tracks (60" with bolts) (used 0ne) 3) Yakima Landing pad one (1 Pair) 4) Control Towers (1 pair) 5) 10 pack of keyed alike cores 5) Boa (need two sets) 6) Wheel Forks (need two) 7) SKS lock accesory (need four) 8) 66" crossbars (only used one) 9) 1 1/2" stainless crews. The ones that come with the tracks are too short to reach through the cover. You do use two of those bolts closest to the window because you are drilling where the hinge mounts and there is not clearance where the bolt comes through. takes about two hours to do once you have the Gobi rack on. Now that I have done one and know measurments, I could do it in about 40 minutes. |
Which bike is yours?

When I got my 03 the plate was on the right, than I had the dealer warranty out the tire carrier and they put the plate on the left. So as far a legal goes, I think I'm Ok, but not sure about the other states. |
Timgco - could you tell me how you mounted the spare w/o the gay plastic license plate holder. I'm desperate to find out how.
