Hummer Dude, It looks like you lifted the front by about 4 inches. The top of the tire is 1/2 way down the bumper and it lines up perfectly with the bend in the door panels, matching the back tire. It looks more balanced.
Where did you get the H3 logo with the circle around it? It matches your wheels. <BLOCKQUOTE class="ip-ubbcode-quote"><div class="ip-ubbcode-quote-title">quote:</div><div class="ip-ubbcode-quote-content">Originally posted by hummer dude: new pic </div></BLOCKQUOTE> |
Its Rancho's kit. 4" in the front and 3" rear. I agree, it looks better balanced.

Saw it listed on http://www.h2parts.com for 2495.00 Thats Lynch Hummers site. I would imagine the price will drop a bit once main stream parts places like 4wheelparts and a couple others start stocking them.

Info that I found...
The off-road suspension experts at Rancho® are proud to introduce the industry's first suspension system for the Hummer H3. This world-class technology allows H3 owners to rival the off-road prowess of Rancho-equipped H2 models. This evolutionary new package allows customers to upgrade to 37-inch tires *. Among the many exclusive features is a state-of-the-art Rancho/Realift™ torsion bar relocation technology, which eliminates the need to relocate the factory torsion bar cross member - doing away with the need to cut and weld. Rancho® engineers also developed an ingenious two-piece cross member design that allows the installer to precisely relocate the differential - ensuring optimum suspension geometry and zero bump steer - without removing it from the vehicle. Our ultra-precise packaging of the cross member maintains maximum ground clearance; when combined with Rancho/Realift™ technology, this design substantially improves approach and departure angles. Also included with each kit is Rancho's Hummer-inspired skid plate armor to protect the front differential. Installation of this system does not allow for re-use of OEM (factory) wheels. * This kit was developed using a 325/60/R20 on 20x9" wheel with 5.0" of back-spacing. Use of the maximum tire size 37 x 12.50 will require some trimming of the front air dam/fascia & inner fender well for clearance. Rancho recommends using 4.5" of backspacing on 16", 17", and 18" wheels, 20" and above we recommend using 5.0" backspacing. Before installing any other wheel/tire combinations, consult your local tire & wheel specialist. 218 - The dealer installed "Under Body Protection Package" will not reinstall on vehicles equipped with a Rancho Susp System. 18 - The net raised height achieved with this system is dependent upon the adjustment of the torsion bars prior to installation. Example: If the Rancho System is listed as 3", but the torsion bars on a vehicle are adjusted to 1" over stock, the net raised height will be 2" Shock Absorbers Sold Seperately. RANRS6558B$2,495.00 |

I would imagine that we have all heard of all of the probs w/ the Rancho Suspension.
It looks like Tough Country will be releasing their 5" lift soon and, it's supposed to be much better than the Rancho lift, it retains much of the factory specs and is a completely bolt on installation and, best of all it costs less! I'm glad I waited. At this point it looks like I'm leaning towards the purchase of the Tough Country lift w/ 35" tires and pos. an 18" wheel. |
I'm with JP's-h3 and it looks like we will have the first kits around March first. ( taking pre orders now )I was able to look over the kit at the ORI show in Jan it really looks sweet. you can run 37" tires with no rubbing. Best of all the truck can be returned to stock at the end of your lease. Can be found in the H3 section of our web site.

Is Tough Country any relation to Rough Country?

Sewie
Correct I am refering to the Rough Country 5" Lift not Tough Country who by the way dose build some pretty cool stuff. But as far as I know not a H3 lift. Rough Country has been around for years building quality suspention lifts. I should have caught that myself. |
ask some serious jeepers what they think of rough contry lifts...
what they say isnt pretty... my offroad performance shop, attitude performance has nothing good to say abt rough country either. fwiw |
Re: RANCHO pics
That's a good looking H3.

Re: RANCHO pics
Try running 37" tires with the I-5 and our axles and front diff and see what happens. You would probably have to use low range around town.
In the picture of the Rancho kit it looks the the front crossmember piece hangs down below the front skid plate. Not good for hitting rocks. |
Re: RANCHO pics

There is no rear skid (black one) since the crossmember has to be lowered. Also the OEM UCP will not fit with this lift. |

So far only 3 companies make a suspension for H3 so far...Tough Country, Rough Country and Rancho.....I'll wait for Bab-Tech to make one berore I buy one. |
Re: RANCHO pics
Big lift and 37 inch tires. Gutless, sloppy handling, but at least it would look good parked at the mall.
