I unhooked the two factory horns and installed the Whelen Air Horn. I mounted it inside the grill and wired it to the horn relay. So when I hit the horn the Whelen Air Horn sounds. It's a blast!!!

I have also gone to a better horn I installed the hadley air horn (model the bulley)behind the grill it comes with a compesor,air tank & air hose and relay it works great ask steve r he heard them easy install i will post some pics of the install you can get them it camping world for less than $200.

I have the box that holds the electronics mounted under the rear seat in the middle. I routed the wires along the drivers side of the H2 under the door molding to the firewall of the engine compartment. The speaker is mounted in the center of the grill on the inside.

Thanks Gary. I'm getting the one w/ the public (and others) address feature. The mic is hooked to the electronics box. I guess I will have to place the box somewhere beneath the dash. I welcome any suggestions. JCJ

Whelen has an extension cable for the P/A mic so you can mount your electronic box in the trunk area or under your seat. When you order you P/A from Whelen let them know you want that extension cable for the microphone.

H2Orange had some Federal Signal air horns for sale awhile back. These are the same air horn/siren/PA combo used on Jacksonville police cruisers. Speaker is small, and designed to withstand bad weather.

I haven't used a horn for 30 years, if ever. These are a fun add on. I think they're great for security, especially when sitting in a parking lot waiting on my wife. I wired mine to operate only when unit is turned on, otherwise the stock horn works as normal.

My air horn is in the Engine compartment also. The stock horn sounds like a 1970 volvo.. The horn is really terrible on the H2 plus my stock horn broke but now they fixed it so i have that horn and the air horn :-)

Just being curious, which air horn did you install?

The control unit is mounted under the rear seat in the center of the H2. I ran the wires along the driver side door to the fuse box in the engine compartment. I don't have any pics taken yet, I will get some taken shortly.

Finaly got the Whelen air horn incl. PA mic installed exactly as you advised. Thanks and much obliged, amigo.
Actually handsfree cell kit, strobes, HummerSolution Cibie DRL exchange lights were installed as well.
All in perfect working and warning order!
Will post pics ASA excitement permits.

I have found in the past the best place to mount an air horn is under the truck. You can mount it in the frame rails anywhere from front to the rear of the truck. Just tilt them down a bit so water and stuff will run out. Walla! Now your engine compartment looks untouched and you get the full sound of the horns! I did this on a camaro back in 87 and boy was it off the hook! I had them hooked up to my alarm and one morning soon after it was tiggered "WOW"! My buddy said he could hear it four blocks away! I'm looking a horn somewhere between the H2 factory horn and these fire truck air horns. Anybody have a recommendation? I too find the H2 horn a bit, well, not H2 worthy, and at the same time I use my horn a lot and I don't want to be overly obnoxious.

H2 Orange had some Federal Signal Air Horns for sale a while back. These are the identical 100w set up that emergency vehicles use. They are compact, used units that require little room for installation and work awesome. I put one in and it's fully operational with PA system. Fits the H2's personality perfectly.

it is done!!! I have now installed my airhorn. I used the wolo dual horn model 815 with lanyard. I have a gobi rack with with lights. it is mounted on the front left portion of the rack just to the left of the lights... LOVE IT!!! to anyone considering an airhorn, you MUST get the lanyard... there is so much better control of volume and length of sound due to easy control of room air... you can give it just a bit of a toot to get attention... pics will be forthcoming... and to all coming to NY dinner will get a treat!!! to who is looking at wolo... the horn is great... the tank is probably too small and the compressor is too bulky to mount and must be kept relatively dry (it cant be mounted when the factory compressor is mounted.) I bought the compressor that is used by 4wheelaccessories separately by a company called component parts. they also provided me with a larger tank which is mounted where the factory compressor is mounted. it is sharp...will submit pics as soon as they are available. lanyard is the key!!! una!!!
