Just in case anyone wants to see the install process. I had called when I received it on Wed because the dealer I bought it from had copied the instructions so many times the pictures were useless. They said they could email them to me in a PDF which I thought meant that day, not two days after the install. Have to say, at least they did what they said they would do and have to give them credit for it.

Re: Predator Motorsports fuel door
I like your fuel door. Unique compared to the RealWheels one that I have that is very common here.

That is one of the reasons I decided to go with this one. I know the keys have a code on them and need to check into if you can order an extra one. It comes with two but what a freakin pain if you happen to lose both of them. Quote:
Thanks Steve. |

I installed my Predator Fuel door Saturday and I have to say that it was cake walk all the way up to the last step:confused: . Tightning the screws was a task, but I got it. Oh, the retainer clips on the inside fender are easy to remove and can be re-used no problem. Use a flat head screw driver and pop the top part of the clip out(there is a groove for this) slide the top part of the clip out a hair and the whole clip will drop out....same concept as the drywall anchor. These are not like the old clips where you pull them out and the plastic teeth break and you have to buy new ones. I will post some pics to show it soon. There is a slight gap on top between the fender and the fuel door even after all the screws are tight. Use a little bit of black latex caulk to go around the fuel door (easy clean up with latex) - looks professional. Even though this fuel door might be a little harder to install, I think that it is great looking and well worth the time and money. I picked mine up on ebay for around $130. :jump: |

Getting those nuts tight was the biggest pain of the whole install, I just could not get my hands in there. Don't know if they have or not but I did talk with them in depth about the install and they said they were going to revise in procedures. The clips for the fender lining were easy to get off but I was wondering about the clips that hold the fender on. Removing the fender would have made the install a lot easier. Quote:
That's about what I got mine for and have been very happy with it. Make sure you wax it on a regular basis. I know that whenever I get any mud or anything on might it starts getting a white haze on it. |
Re: Predator Motorsports fuel door
You definitely have to be a contortionist to get your hands in there. I was a little lucky as mine are small. I wish the kit included a pre-drilled steel ring instead of those tiny washers that weren't really good for anything. Lining up the factory fuel bezel and the fuel door and the washers and then trying to put a nut on the back in such a tight spot...what a pain!

Being a contortionist would have definitely helped and I agree, a steel ring would have been a lot better idea. |
