Guess you were there when I arrived:D
Visited a lot of the same places that you were at, we could have crossed paths.
Original MOS would have been 11BF7, but was discharged with a 37F.

I arrived around May 66 with the 140th Heavy Equipment Maint. Co..We were sent to the Long Bien Area and built our own compound. It was an unsecure area when we were their. It took about 3 months to totaly secure it.

Small arms fire every now and then during the day ...and at night 1 or 2 incoming mortors. I was a (62B30H) Depot Rebuild Mechanic...Rough Terrain Cranes and Bulldozers.

You'd never know it though.. they issued me an M14AR and a M179 Duper and in between wrenched in the bush I did Ammo convoys and non Mechanical things just so they made sure I would use the weapons...:D

11B would be a ......Infantry Operations And Intelligence Specialist
so what is the F7....and the 37F..??

Re: H3 Nav Unit... Splan Me....

MOS 11B is Infantry; F7=Pathfinder (Think there was another letter too, but as you know, that was a lifetime ago, and somethings we forget, somethings we try to forget, and somethings we will never forget)
37F = Psychological Operations Specialist (PSYOPS)

Now, back to cleaning my SIGs, heading to the range tomorrow...

We got activated Nov 02, left US Mar 03 and went to Kuwait. Camp Arifjan, where I spent most of the time. As 51T (now 21T) (land surveyor, CAD eng. S-2 bitch) we did s..t for a year. BC counted like 700 missions, where most of them were really stupid crap. I mean really stupid crap, but that's the army. You get money, you better spend it or next fiscal you won't get it. So it was nice vacation. Plenty of sun. Didn't rain for 8 straight months. Not even a cloud on sky. Lot's of sand. Lot's of off-road time behind HUMVEE, the real one (what a piece of **** it is, most of them spent more time in shop then on road). Many hours playing XBOX Hallo, 16 people, LOL!!!
If it wasn't for hot weather, tents with no AC and good looking chick, it would be best vacation I ever had. Funny thing is, that after few months fat girls started to look really hot, LOL!!! :D

Not much sand where I was stationed, mostly tripple canopy jungle or highlands, but hot as hell and talk about humidity. We were allowed to drink when he were in base camp (guess they would have had a hard time stopping us :D ).

Freaken Wet season was the worst.... rain for 3-6 months straight...Jungel rot..we had the old WWII issue Olive Drabs... and standard leather boots. The sleeves of my Olive Drabs.. use to rot off at the stiching.

I use to envey the new guys comen in with the new jungle boots and new issue fatigues. Down the raod ..finally got issued new gack.

And..yeah ..we did our share of bozen....and smoked a little gun-gee.:D

Here is an option for you that will give you the factory NAV yet save you about $700 dollars.

in the 06 H3 nav the 6 disc changer goes away and it becomes a single disc player. I don't think it will play MP3's either, but I could be wrong on that.

Before anyone purchases, hope they check about the DVDs and the GPS antenna. In addition, since this is a GM radio, a trip to the dealer will probably be required to have the dealer, with a Tech 2, learn the radio to the LAN system.
