As of right now, we will be there. Need some info.
  1. When will everyone arrive?
  2. Where is everyone staying the night before?
  3. Food for this trip - pack it in or is it available.
  4. Are shields suggested? In the East it is highly reccommended.
This will be an awesome trip for me - My son's wedding, then Moab, Grand Canyon and then finish up on the Rubicon. Life's looking good!:D

Loon Lake has plenty of parking at the Loon Lake Chalet. It really depends, the trail is one way. In at Loon, out at Lake Tahoe. You will have to drive back to Loon to pick up your Camper.
It's up to you.

Here are some good sites to use for information:

http://www.rubicon-trail.com/

and

http://www.rubicontrail.com/

and

http://www.delalbright.com/Rubicon/rubicon.htm

I'd say this one is the best.:)

  1. When will everyone arrive? Thursday
  2. Where is everyone staying the night before? Hotels or Camping in the Georgetown Area or Placerville Area
  3. Food for this trip - pack it in or is it available. On the trail is Camping only, it is very remote, it is real wilderness style. No bathrooms, no showers.
  4. Are shields suggested? In the East it is highly reccommended. Shields may help minimize any tree damage, but it won't prevent rock rash. Expect damage rock rails, UCP, skid plates, bumpers, and vehicle corners.

Child issues to deal with, but we want to come.

Hiker wheels more than most anyone here, and in more places. I'm sure he's just wondering about tree rash, as the trails out here are cut for Heeps. He'll beat the crap out of the unseen parts of his truck.:D  :D
