about freaken time..... How much?
|
just under $90.00! If it works like it is supposed to, then it'll be well worth it!! I'll let you guys know! I'm set up as a "dealer" so if you guys want I'll order a bunch, them ship them to you guy, but I'd rather wait until after I test it out so I don't have to worry about returns and the like!

It is about time. Now I will not have to turn my amp off manually any more. ![]() Mine is coming overnight, so I should have it installed tomorrow. I will let you all know how it goes. I purchased mine through a dealer/distributor that will ship to end users. They are $75 plus shipping. Ask for Scott at HP Distributing, 310 324-5301. He was great to deal with and they have them in stock. Cheers [ formerly known as wannabe and wannabeinit ] |
Looking forward to hearing how the interface is. Ease of installation, quality, etc. I have 2 10" Polk Subs in bandpass box just itching to get into my H2. Keep us posted!

My C2A-GM24 arrived today as promised. However, it does not function!
![]() ![]() They want me to send it back before they will send me another unit. HP Distributing was no help as they said they can not get more of them for two weeks and the four they had sold instantly (one was to me). Sooooo MSXer, it is up to you to tell us how it works. Some of the interesting things that the install guide said is that you can have the unit adjust the volume based on the fade setting on the factory head unit. Also, if you turn the volume all the way down it will shut off the remote amp circuit. It said nothing about the tone controls on the radio so I do not know if they effect the output of the interface or not, I suspect not. Cheers [ formerly known as wannabe and wannabeinit ] |
I hope mine freaking works!!! I won't know till tuesday though, because I just had them ship it ground. I'll let you guys know ASAP!

Karl at PAC received my unit back today. He tested it and said it works fine in his diagnostic test setup!
I said "oh don't tell me that" ![]() Anyway, he is sending me out another brand new unit. It will go out UPS ground, I should have it next week. Until then . . . Cheers [ formerly known as wannabe and wannabeinit ] |
I just got off the phone with Karl at PAC and he explained to me that I can not read!
![]() The instructions say to plug the PAC interface into the factory head unit. I plugged it into the bose amplifier (the plug is the same on both ends) and it does not work there. That is really too bad because it would be so much easier to plug it into the amp. Oh well! Alls well that ends well. Cheers [ formerly known as wannabe and wannabeinit ] |

Was it you that they were working with when they figured out what I was doing wrong? Karl said another tech was working with a person who knew of my postings. Cheers [ formerly known as wannabe and wannabeinit ] |
it was me!!! I hooked it up at the amp and..... it didn't work, so i figured I'd call them and see if I could figure out what was up.... Well, it has to be connected at the head unit even though the connectors are the same. I told him you most likely did the same thing i did. It's hooked up now and it works great!! I love it! The device does exaclty what it says it'll do! The fade function is really useful. Cheers!! Everyone needs to order up!
btw.... let me know when you go to install. I'm now an expert on removal/installation of the stock components. NICE!!!!! If you like bikes... Check out http://www.usualsuspex.com |
NSXeR, tell us what exactly this unit does! Thanks i look forward to hearing from you on this.
|
dude it freakin rocks! It goes inline with your existing bose system. It does not hinder your stock system at all, but what it does give you is: the ability to hook up an aftermarket amplifier. The big difference between it and other "converters" is that it does it before the bose amplifier! That way you get a clean, unprocessed signal. I hooked it up to my Kenwood 500Watt amp and 2 JL 12" subs. It is perfect for adding deep bass to the stock system.

How hard is the install? and Do you know if we can use the coming Aux input device from PAC while using the Amp add on device from PAC? Thanks!

Did Rollin sound do your install? if so, would you use them again?
|
no. i did it myself.... and I would use myself again! ha!
TN--> the install was not bad, just time consuming. It took about three hours to run all the cables for the amps, install the PAC, etc. but, it was well worth it. awesome results with the complete stock look! and I'm not sure about the aux input box. I hope it does, becuase I have XM and DVD that right now are RF modulated. I can't wait to have a clean input. we'll see. If you like bikes... Check out http://www.usualsuspex.com |
would you have any pics of your work?
|
One more question I thought of. Does the interface have a line level to RCA output converter or will I need to buy one so I can run my inputs to the aftermarket amp. Ditto on the pics!!! That would be really great! Thanks
