Okay, I just read the posts on Ronald McBarney.

I had an office manager like that- I had her job before and left. I came back a year later to help out and she treated me like crap. My father was the owner/surgeon so I had to be nice. It was a nightmare- she looked just like Mimi from drew carey. Bright outfits, sprayed grey blonde hair, big man hands with sausage fingers and the power shoulder pads- and stunk up the office bathroom everyday more than once. (then tried to light a match and sprayed lysol so it smelled like someone ate matches and lysol and blew the ultimate chunks out of thier large white tabletop azz.) Her name was Garnett. She would- among many other things- put two quarters on my desk and tell me to go down to the drink machine for her. Everyone hated her. I couldn't do much but make humor of it with the others. I had cut out the head of a Mrs. Beasley doll and put it on a popsicle stick and would make it peer around the corners and make everyone laugh. I wish I could remember what she drove because it would paint the picture perfect- a small rinky dink car. It was like a bull in a bathtub.

She was single too, her husband had left her for another woman. The office was the only place where she had control of her life. Making her a sh1tting nazi bitch! She was a starer downer too and just loved to intimidate the girls that worked there.

She was terrible. It made work so difficult and I would always come home and sit around and think about what I could or should have said.

Finally, I got over it. I got out a copy of my job description and gave her lip and/or ignored anything that was outside of it. I encouraged everyone else to do the same. We eventually left her feeling powerless and she left for another job. Mostly it's about power and this woman McBarney is on the same trip.

I would find the old job descriptions- ignore everything outside of it. She is already making your life miserable- no need to kiss up. But make sure your job is done with excellency. Change anything she doesn't have control over- coffee brand or creamer. Fix smelly lean cuisines in the breakroom and take an old Garnett for me in the bathroom nearest her office at least once a day. Meanwhile, Gather a log of every incident, have others do the same and then if she stays and continues- then you and the others submit it to her superior- the more complaints the better.

PS- an unhappy staff = slow production. If everyone is thinking of her and she is causing havoc than it can't be good for the higher ups. Much emphasis on that will at least indeed open an eye.

H2Co-Pilot .. I just read your description of your old boss. It was hysterical!! I was laughing so hard I was crying:crying: But after your funny stuff, all of your advice made 100% sense. Good for you on how you helped put it to an end. I hope Scouts Out follows some of the good advice here. It has to be misery for what he has to endure at work weekly.
