Well, I have plans drawn up and will probably build a storage drawer system for rear this Friday. It will be 8" tall, 41" wide, and 28" deep. This will allow for rear door to close and sloped back of rear seats. It will have two sep. drawers on ball bearing glides, each drawer will have a rubber liner mat, it wiil be bolted down to tie downs, and tie downs will be move to top of unit with large heavy duty rubber mat from Tractor Supply. Will post pics when done.

Wish me luck!

Did anyone ever produce a reasonably priced model?

For my fellow weekend warriors, did the rear door interfere with the driver's side drawer in your cabinets? When I open my door, the interior portion looks like it might interfere with a drawer being pulled out completely on that side.

Otherwise, I think I can build one for around $150. Does anyone know of a good plastic materials supplier? I was going to try to build mine of lightweight yet strong plastics to save on weight and mileage.

Ok all, here is my answer to the cargo organization issue.

It weighs around 15 - 20 pounds empty. Manual R&D and construction time was right around 3 hours. I skipped the drawer idea as this configuration allows much more space in the lower quadrant to be utilized.

Total cost of materials - $85.00.

As far as durability, today I had a packaged 50" plasma television partially sitting on the lower portion of the system and the rest on the folded seats. The cargo system never even groaned.

Enjoy! :beerchug:

Its a shelf, doesn't have a lockable drawer...

Don't think its what everyone was talking about... if it works for you GREAT but we are looking for a box the size of the cargo area, 4 to 8" tall with a drawer or drawers, possibly lockable...

I think I just wet myself regarding the hooker crack :dancingbanana:

BWAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAHAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAHAAAAAAAAAAA (Very nice dig!)

Just a note on the rack - the top layer and legs pop out and the bottom layer is at the height of the panel bevel, just below the power outlet.

To each there own I guess.

Here is a more economical option I think I might try. $269.99

http://trucktoys4less.com/cargocaddy.html

Mid-Size

Exterior
Width Depth Height
37.75" 32.25" 10"

Interior Drawer
Width Depth Height
33.75" 30" 7"

All Models will hold a maximum weight of 150 lbs (EVENLY DISTRIBUTED) on top of Cargo Caddy

Material used is Low Density Polyethylene ~ Same as stadium seats or playground equipment

Re: STORAGE BOX FOR H3

The mid size would fit in the cargo area its Apx 42 X 33.
That would leave Apx 2 9/16 inch gap to each side(at the bottom) and 3/4inch at the hatch.
I think the rear seats folded are are less then 10 inches high ,but its close.(might be enough to even out a twin or full air mattress)

If you get one give a write up:D
