I have the doi w/warn 8000lb winch, love it but want to get synthetic line. would have spent the extra $75.00 and gotten the 9.5 if I was paying attention but my cheap a$$ side came out ;) and looked at the lower price and didn't see actual price difference. the 8000lb pulled plenty good when I got myself sitting on the frame in a mud hole. single line pull, that was after I found a suitable winch point. first try pulled a tree out of the ground(oops) but if you have a snatch block I think it would have plenty pull:)

I mount my WARN to a front tow receiver. However I don't recommend this because it does limit the approach angle. I think the winch mount made by Cris is the best out there so far.

I don't see any feedback about a winch and the suspension. Hitting a pot hole with a 100 pound winch on the front is a lot of g forces, I would like some opinions of that issue.

What about security?

I'll probaly get an integrated version, there are a few out there, so security is not really an issue there.

I've got an integrated winch bumper and brush guard on my front end and I don't lose any sleep over the weight issue. I use synthetic line which helps a bit. If I was worried, I would still keep the winch and tell my wench...I mean wife...to sit in the back. :giggling:

I high speed travel I don't think it will have enough negative effect on the air flow to matter. At slow speeds in 4lo locked, when the engine does get warm, the air flow won't be affected at all.

I am runing the Warn 9.5 TI on the H2. I also carry a Pull Pal along with me.
