That depends on the bride... Mrs. Mac is a former Olympic track & field athlete so if I'm stuck for a gift, I drop into the local "BodyTools" shop and see what's on sale.

Yeah I know my wife is a power lifter and there is nothing better when stuck for a gift.. More gym sh*t always works. Most women though will kill you if you were to buy them exercise equipment. You know the possible underlying conotations

Yup... one of the reasons why I didn't pick one of those women who "let themselves go" so to speak.

I was sitting at the office, a couple weeks ago, and the conversation was Christmas gifts. A female coworker who was listening in reacted negatively when I said I'd bought my wife another piece of gym equipment. I suggested she discuss it with my wife (who she's never met) and the guys (who have met my wife) all chuckled. She turned and huffed off. Whatever.

Does your wife compete or just train for herself? My bride is coaching for a local track & field club so our equipment gets used regularly... and I have to put up with spandex-clad teenage girls running around my house. :D

She does it for both.. Her last competition was 1.5 years ago. She has not really competed since that day. Her combined lift for squats (215), bench (225) and deadlift (290) was 730 lbs. The second place girls combined lift was 420. She quit competing because this is how the comps usually turned out. She competed a couple of times in the mens comp and in her wieght class with the men she finished second twice.

So we just lift together for the fun of it.

Impressive results!! My wife competes in the Master's classes of her favorite events (shotput, discus & hammer throw) in addition to her coaching. I'm too fat and lazy... and possibly addicted to my compter...

Sorry for the hijack!!

SO that's why you wash your cars every Sunday. You are afraid she's going to kick your ass.:fdance: (totally kidding ;))

I love getting kitchen stuff and appliances!!! They are really coming out with some neat stuff. I would give half a pinky for that Kitchen Aid mixer. I have wanted one for years but I just can't decide what color because they are all fantastic.

Ken gave me a nice Pentax for my birthday in September. I love it. Nice job Huckleberry!:)
