Yea I skidded on a cat once, no ill effects other than the cat being flat. Sorry to hear about the crash. Wishing you a speedy recovery.

I know the pain of hitting a tree while trying to dodge freelance pussy in the road. Ended up with just about the same injuries but I didn't lose the H2 in the accident. Glad you are OK and the truck protected.

Now on the weekends for fun I go on kittie hunting trips in the truck just to see how many I can flatten. Give it a try it is theraputic.

I'm really glad you're ok. Trees are tough!

This is the third story that I know of people totalling vehicles to dodge animals. I just run them over. Countless squirrells, a big big bobcat or small mountain lion, a few cats, an owl, dozens of birds. I had a lady dodging a cat once almost head on me. I saw the cat before she did and predicted her move. Why she'd ever in the world think that cat was worth both our lives I'll never know.

I dodge and brake for large deer, moose, cows, horses, and really big pigs because the physics rule and even then, the animals better to hit than a tree, or an oncoming car because in THOSE instances physics rule. I got rid of the Mini Cooper because I almost ate a cow, completely uncooked one night.

Dude, It awesome that you ok!

When I get crap from the tree huggers, I ask them what they'd rether be in a wreck in, my H2 or a Prius...

These pics say way more then a 1000 words. Wow

Glad you're ok!!

Good luck recovering, I had a few cracked ribs awhile back and so i can feel your pain (still, literally...like 4 months later!)

Plus, buying a new vehicle is half the fun as well!

Glad you are OK. Lucky it wasn't in an H3. You'd be dead.

I am sorry to hear about your accident but thank God you're still here. I read your post and you said you are looking for a replacement. I have a white 2003 H2 with all the options and it only has about 11,000 miles on it. The strangest thing of all is I bought it from a very close friend of mine with 1800 miles on it and he was an NBA superstar from Birmingham Al. If you are interested please call me at (214)454-8466 and we will discuss it more then. I hope you're feeling better and once again God bless.

Re: R.I.P.

Man glad Your OK!!!!!

It took Me awhile but, I finally got my daughters to understand that unless it is a deer or bigger do not dodge it run straight down the road in Your lane. One of two things will happen. 1) the animal will be dead or 2) because You held a straight line odds are good the animal will have changed course and You will miss it anyway. The only crazy exception is that a deer if it looks to have crossed in front of you in one direction and on oppisite lane as you it will most of the time turn around and go back the way it came right in front of you. The deer knows where it came from was safe and scared of running off into a direction it has not cautiously walked into checking it out. Did not know how many knew that but, that info alone has saved me and my girls many accidents by seeing a deer on opposite shoulder and slowing down just in case the thing turned and bolted back in front to go where it just came from.
OK so much for Hunter and Driver ED 101.

My oldest girl (who by the way not long ago gave Me my first granddchild a boy 2 months old now) but, anyway she has taken the not swerving thing to heart now not feeling like risking an accident that may have been avoided by just seeing which is tougher her car or the critter.

My youngest she has had a few customized rides and as long as the critter is not to where she can see it above her hood it is road kill. She learned once dodging a small animal on wet streets that cost her a totaled custom car she learned that insurance unless well documented does not care what You put on the ride it is what ever year, model, and make that's all.

Again so glad it looked as God had His hand on You that day plus He gave You the good sense to by an H2.

Hope Your search for a new rig goes well.

Thanks for all of the positive comments and jokes! :fdance:

I'll tell you this forum has made it so much easier to cope with everything that happened. Most of my friends out here don't understand how important my car was to me. It has been great to hear from other people that have the same passion for Hummers as I do.

The search for my new car is a slow one! Everyone I look at is either over priced or not the right color. I am trying to find a Black or Pewter one. I will keep you guys informed with what I find and get some feedback. Anyways I just wanted to say "Thanks" to everyone and God Bless........

....and they say us H2 owners dont care about mother nature... :giggling:

Worst thing if the pussy as indeed a log, then you deserve getting smacked by that tree!! LOL!! :OWNED:

Anyways, you'll get another one, especially knowing now how well it can take a punch. Not even Van Dam can spin-kick this things and get away with.

Hey, did you know the origins of the H2?

Well, Chuck Norris was out day walking at Moab, where a large mountain obstructed his path. He then roundhoused kicked it, and when the dust settle, their stood the first H2. Thus, he traveled in his H2 in search of more mountains until the trails we now were formed. This was later know as the Big-Bang!

Re: R.I.P.

Hoping for a fast and successful recovery! A while back I read an article on how large SUV's had an "unfair advantage" in collisions. In your case it was a tree but despite the negative press, there is nothing else I would put my wife and kids in. I am cognizant that trucks don't have the same safety requirements as passenger cars. Nevertheless, in a head on collision between my wife's Hummer or a Camry, I'd choose the former.
