Yep - happening now:crying: Until a few weeks ago, I was getting the stab sys failure, traction failed and ABS serv messages on the DIC intermittently... truck was running ok... anyways, bust a tie-rod a few weeks back (both replaced with 16mm units now ;) ) and forgot to mention what I felt was a sensor problem to the dealer. Anyway, got it back and the warnings mentioned came on once, then back off ... BUT, mud / water the traction control comes on and basically brings the truck to a complete stop - even at like 5mph.... a bit of driving around and it does it again then nothing - seems it's only happening in the wet which makes me think a loose connection... Anyone tell me where i can find the sensors and check the connectors? I need to get it in to the shop, but I have a trip on Friday and I don't wanna miss it - it's been raining here, and that is not something we see often :excited: Cheers JFF |
Re: ABS , Stabili , and traction
If you don't know where the sensors are, you probably shouldn't be trying to fix an ABS problem. You really need to have it scanned to know where to start looking. I'm not trying to be a dick, but It's next to impossible to fix an ABS problem if you don't know what the code is.

Thanks, but it ain't ABS, its definitely the traction control but you are right, no point in messing about with stuff when the dealer will do it for me ;) .... anyway, we have progress :clapping: Off to the dealer tomorrow morning to pick up the Workshop Manager and a Tech II, then round the back of the dealer where it's nice and muddy as it rained all day - guarantee that will start the problem.... to be fair, they reckon they have an idea now what it is (thanks Neo, as I passed the info here and on another thread to them :beerchug:) ... so it'll be up on the ramp and done and dusted by lunchtime - their estimate, not mine, so we'll see!!! Cheers JFF |
Re: ABS , Stabili , and traction
ABS and traction control are the same system.

Re: ABS , Stabili , and traction
:fdance:
Okay ... dropped into the dealer this morning, 30mins later got the truck back - loose sensor on the left front which had moved out of position - wonder how that happened :o ... anyway, cleaned up, relocated etc - JOb Done :perfect10s: Cheers JFF |
Re: ABS , Stabili , and traction
I have heard that sometimes when the reduced power/ traction failed light comes on it can also be a malfunction in the accelerator pedal. There is a module on the pedal that apparently can loose communication.
