Bring back the H1 Alpha. If you can not afford the Alpha with the Duramax engine and Allison transmission, stop the whining and get another SUV!

I hope they get the contract, they're going against Force Protection, makers of the Cheetah.

Theres rumors that the h1 is returning in 2010 according to a few websites and truck trend. AM General is denying it, but they're flying AMG factory techs around the country trying to troubleshoot drive line issues with the Alpha. Why do this for a "dead" product line?

That being said these are 40,000$ trucks plain and simple, they sold for that in 92, and these trucks aren't expensive for AM General to make. The real reason why the H1 was discontinued was that they needed the full assembly line to meet military demand.

AM General pumps out 80 Enchanced A2 Hmmmwv's a day.

I'm sure when defence spending drops in a year or so, we'll see a familar face back on the roads again.

Hopefully not at 120-150 grand. For a $1,600 lease payment, I could get 2 used nice condition h1's and still have money left over.

You really think that if the H1 comes back in 2010 they're gonna sell the thing for less than an H2. I don't. They'll most likely be more than 40,000 in my opinion. Probably not 125, but def. not 40. I think they'll be between 75 and 100.
