Re: Last one to prove my North Texas sucks to raise your family
Move here. It's always ranked as one of the safest big cities in America and one of the top 10 to live in for 2006. It also ranks as one of the highest in literacy.
We have about 100k less people, but only had 19 murders. Plus, if you count the 7 cities all around the water here, there's over 1.6 million peeps. http://www.city-data.com/city/Virgin...-Virginia.html I'll give you a hand moving the sofa.:p Almost forgot, you can visit your relatives in about 7-8 hours by taking one highway. |

Re: Last one to prove my North Texas sucks to raise your family
My family has been raising GREAT DANES for over 56 years...Moms an AKC Judge, former professional handler...
we have bred, raised, trained, shown and sold a lot of danes...they are very smart but very docile...to make one DEMAND RESPECT from all people is not easy but it can be done... There is a German method (i forget the name) but I don't like it...kind of brutal... The best way is teach basic obedience and from that point work on the rest (treat training is my way but there are many) The advantage of a DANE is the size alone is a big deterent... Many other larger breeds are also great dogs for training...the traditional (DOBE-GERMAN SHEPHERD-ROTTIE) carry the additional association of being common attack trained dogs so that alone can be a great deterent... I have seen TRAINED MASTIFFS, St BERNARDS, IRISH WOLFHOUNDS, CHOWS etc etc once saw a attacked trained BASSET HOUND (ears and all) |

:perfect10s: hahaha!! :perfect10s: I'm a little surprised about the Ft. Worth data. I go out to dinner downtown and in several surrounding areas almost every night and I haven't run into a crappy area. I'm not saying they don't exist, but you'd never notice it firsthand. You just read this stuff in the paper. I'm not from here, dont' live here, but I spend a TON of time in Ft. Worth. Almost everyone I work with is from Ft. Worth and they all seem to love it. The do have the chip on their shoulder where they feel they're overshadowed by Dallas. But they all seem to be very proud of their community. |

No. Fort Worth is Awesome to go to for dinner, night life. You are 100% right. Just don't venture off your direct routes because it is pretty bad. It really is not day to day. It is just trending that way. Going to the grocery store is not what it was even 2 years ago. The hood rats riding bycicles in your neighborhood casing the places because you know they do not live in close vicinity. The mall is just a joke. Best Buy. Circuit City. Our window was busted out a year ago and we lost the headrest tv's along with a crowbar to the 6 disc stereo. Our neighbors Horse trailer was getting packed for a weekend Barrel race extravaganza only to come out and it (the trailer) was on blocks. I found 35 acres in MT but I am not sold on that much cold. I can handle a harsh winter but my nipples would be pebbles all of the time. That may be cool if the women there don't look like Smokey the Bear. $79,000 check out the pics ![]() ![]() |

I've been there in extreme heat and also snow. It's not like there's a ton of accumulation on the ground, but it does snow. I believe there are 3 colleges there and it's only ~200 miles from where you are now. That being said, I must admit MT pics look beautiful! |

Those views are nice, but they don't even compare to Colorado. Find a place outside of Durango. |

I have really looked at Colorado. I was looking in the Southwest CO area. (I came across a town GooeyGaybob may have been interested in; the Sex Change Capital of the world). Colorado is Awesome. Just a little rich for my blood. |

lol it is quite convienient for those that want to frequent those attrations but I sure they heck dont want to live around them. As you know, where there are neked girls there is drugs and prositutes and pimps and then comes the guns and the minion gang members running a muck killing people for initiation to a gang.
Not for me, Quote:

Re: Last one to prove my North Texas sucks to raise your family
Yes, there is still a part of the "old town" and "community" that still adheres to the "old days" of the "western" way of life that they are struggling hard to hold on to. While I do admire this, I still watch in agony they council members make really bad mistakes in regards to zoning and other city responsibilities that would keep the bad elements out.
Sadly, they haven?t and its been overrun by Mexicans and welfare degenerates that life a lifestyle of hoodlumism and its hurt the city badly. Crime is terrible there; as you may recall a large segment of the "Cops" TV show series was devoted to Ft Worth. I just wanted to defend the rest of DFW as there are many VERY impressive places to live that are still quite affordable and safe which attract many people that are coming from FL, NY and CA due to the real-estate corrections. If you get the time, please visit Frisco and Plano. Plano was voted the nicest city in the USA like 5 years in a row to live back in the early 2000s. And Frisco is one of the fastest growing cities in the nation right now. In any case, GL with where ever you end up but things arent so bad if you will have a look in a few other areas. Quote:
