REDLYNER's design works with this method, since the winch sits between the frame rails/mounting plates, any force applied is evenly distributed between the two mounting point and there's no chance of anything bending.


You are correct, I'm not trying to argue. Just wanted to point out that in certain situations, including end user design error, that those shackles can indeed bend.

Oh I'm not argueing, just clarifying what happened in that picture, since the original thread seems to be blaming the stock plates when it's clearly a fault with the design of the winch mount.

In the end, any thickness plate can bend if the design distributes load unevenly.
