Nice post NJ H2...

I've bought two sets of E & G Flares for my H-2...the second set was to replace the drivers rear side flare from an off-roading accident. I contacted Trail Duty, who I purchased the first set from...and was informed that E & G didn't sell anything but sets, this was back in '07.

The third time I trashed the same flare I contacted Trail Duty...and was informed that the flares could be purchased individually to the tune of $375.00. I too declined to purchase one flare for this astronomically quoted price. For goodness sakes...it's for an H2 not the space shuttle...

Are the replacement flares going for $100.00 each...please confirm this so I can order a new driver's side rear flare!!! Inquiring minds need to know!!!

So we've all learned valuable lessons here:

Do not buy E&G flares from ANYONE because:

Replacement parts are stupidly overpriced
The owner will call you a liar in public
The owner will call you irresponsible in public
The owner will discuss personal info about you in public
E&G customer service sux

It's probably a good idea to inform others by posting a link to this thread on other forums and letting any retailers you deal with know about it. They should be informed.

Looks like Dan is gonna lose more then he expected. I am also a member of the cadillac forums and will be posting a link to this thread on there. I'm sure people over there would like to know how bad customer service is before they spend $800 on a grill. I am also a company owner myself and would never dream of posting or even discussing my customers information with anyone. VERY VERY BAD business etiquette Dan!!!!:soapbox:

Dan, here's a simple solution to salvage this terrible situation:

Since:

(1) you don't sell to customers direct
(2) you have quite a few existing (& potential) customers already in this forum
(3) you need to appease other upset members of this forum (& other linked Hummer forums) asap
(4) no other Hummer forum received as much traffic & exposure as this one

You need to:

Contact Jason -- the owner of this forum -- who also owns somo.com -- who is an authorized dealer of many Hummer related parts -- and set him up to sell replacement E&G flares at your quoted $100 each.

Problem solved!

Where's Dan? It sounds like replacement flares are consistant with our gas prices. Well, I guess "it is what it is." E&G is done with me, my trucks, customer's trucks.

I had a bad pump with my supercharger kit (replaced no questions asked)
I bought very high quality DUAL Front and rear shocks from a reputable company for a six inch lift on one of my hummers, and they were not cheap either, (replaced no questions asked).
Why do you have to "SPIN" this? :violin:
Its just this simple =
1.who packed the box?
2. would this discussion be taking place had the box been packed correctly? Cut the SPIN its not worth it. Who cares who has the biggest sand castle.

I must first admit, that I do not spend as much time reading through these posts as I should, or would like to. However, this one caught my eye today and felt that I had to get involved.

I contacted Dan at E&G today, he seemed like a decent enough guy and does want to get this situation properly resolved and afforded me the opportunity to assist.

We, Source Motors, have an account with E&G, but only for their Hummer H2 Fender Flares. The dealer cost on one Fender Flare is $141.23 plus the freight charges. NJ-H2, I will be happy to sell it to you at my cost if you still want it.

We do not show the item in our store, so we would need to do a custom order over the phone. The part number you had is correct, 5308240603u, and they do have it in stock (we can drop ship it directly to you).

If I have stuck my neck out there where it does not belong, I do apologize. I just felt that I could help out on this one.
